Already killig the less abled in our society, on the road to stealing our working tax creit and family tax, opening the door to taking child tax back. in all my days on this site, i have regularly read something like this and then read the retort about how the tax is based on value... i suspect you could buy a full sized car from china and they'd still list it as being only worth 2 dollars (and probably not far off the mark).

Seems like a bargain but it depends on the quality of the blocks really, clone brands can range from excellent to useless. There's plenty of other characters for cheap too like Ironman and Spiderman.
They have some small Star Diamond branded sets for about £1 too and they are the best quality lego clone brand out there.

Similarly it always used to be the case that Play and other similar modelled companies actually setup in Guernsey so they don't have to charge VAT to ship to consumers in the UK, making it impossible for UK businesses to compete as they're already 20% down on profit.

You don't pay any VAT on items under £15. Customs duty kicks in at £135.
The duty/VAT isn't too bad. It's the £8 "handling fee" that is added on which is the killer.
You sound like the sort of person who would complain about the minimum wage being "too low" too. Things made in the UK cost more partly because British workers are MUCH better paid than their Chinese counterparts.

To be honest this deal is a bit dodgy, very dodgy in fact, this won't be licensed by Disney and therefore if I bought a quantity to resell in this country they could well be seized and destroyed at customs. Whilst Disney is a multi million pound possibly tax dodging company this deal is in fact not strictly legal in the UK.

I went to buy 10 as stocking fillers but everything I went to check out came.up with the right money for 10 but only said 1 item, so thought was dodgy only sending 10 piece out of the 100 to build it, are they light company then?
most less abled (in the care sector we are obliged to not refer to service users as disabled as it is seen to be derogotary ... by who no one knows), are not deeply affected by the cuts, its the people who are not obviously less abled (such as those with mental health issues and symptoms which do not fall into the governments assessment tick box areas, PTSD etc). There is no definative recognition of who is actually fit for work, it is at the doctors/assessors discration basicly.
