Don't know about the price, but these are great cleaners. I would never go back to a Dyson. Shop around online for the bags.

I am a big fan of Miele would never advise any other machine to anyone
The 1200w model is the latest one released in summer 2015. The 1600w is a year older and I think being discontinued.
Miele models are not straightforward or easy to compare - I can't tell you which is the better to get as you'd expect the newer model to be more efficient.

On paper both the 1600w and 1200w have the same cleaning rating (Carpet - C, Hardfloor - B), but the 1200w is a little bit more efficient.
My thinking is that 1600 is a bigger number than 1200, so it must be better! Also noted that the RRP of the 1600w was a lot higher than the 1200w.
It's a moot point anyway now, as the 1200w is slightly more expensive.

Quick watch out: I bought a C3 for a little over this price from curry's earlier this month. Just make sure you get the right one (1600w) as there were 2 very very similar C3's for sale at the same price, but one of them was a 1200w version.
Both types were in the same 'pile' in the shop so it was very easy to pick up the wrong one.
The model number differs by one letter from memory, but the spec sticker on the box will show if its 1600w or 1200w.
Great cleaner, really powerful and not very heavy at all. Also pack of 4 bags for around £9 include filters.

I'm pretty sure that the 1200W is the new model, and is potentially more powerful than the 1600W due to design changes but no evidence on that front!

I have this one and so far it is great. Had a Miele before and it is a big bigger than the last but it is pretty quiet and had good suction. Bought mine 2 months back for 150 so great price.

Got a Miele, they are brilliant! For Generic bags go to E-spares, brilliant fit and great company. They even send you money off emails every few months

I've had mine for about 12 years now and it's still working perfectly, but it's 2200watt or something. I dunno why Dyson get so much attention, they're ****, every person I know has one and complains all the time about them. I also don't get why "bagless" is such a big deal, all it means is you have to get a bag to empty it out in because otherwise it sticks to your bin. I'd rather have a bag I can easily just throw away when it's full, which for me is once every two months, so I only need 6 bags a year which I can easily order on Amazon.
They're the best.

Looks like this is the model - on the Irish Miele site:
Ordered, thanks OP - great price, bit confused which model it is given it doesn't appear on the Miele website! Should be delivered tomorrow so will update here if I can get a better model number

So dragging the entire heavy cleaner back an forth is better than just the brush with lightweight tube because...?
And how exactly is the bag worse than getting covered in dust every time you empty the container? Not to mention washing dirty filters? I'd rather pay few pounds twice a year and save myself the hassle.

Much better but with a cylinder you're always going to be doing the work, dragging it around and leaning over etc. And don't forgot you've still got bags and filters to buy for these.
Good vacuum if you like a cylinder but I'll stick with my Shark 3in1 thanks :smirk:

I bought the C1 not long ago, as above coming from a bagless VAX this really is so much better. Good price.
