Great price for this 'phone. Been an avid Windows phone user for the past 3 years, and the solidly built Lumias really are good.

If you are a Windows user then you should find it easy. It operates fairly seamlessly with Win 10 and Onedrive.

I'm still gonna wait for next year when they get the ecosystem going, it'll take awhile for them to catch up but hopefully with Windows 10 and Universal apps, they'll get there at last and do it much quicker than they have been.

I think the Surface Phone will come next year and be their true big push, this year is just the left overs from Nokia that they had to make work. I do think they're rather unimpressive, just on par with Android offerings and the 808/810 are terrible chips that will age so quickly when the 820 comes out. It's just the fact that the 808 is really a dual core that only has a single core speed of 1000, that's vs the iPhone 6s which is 2500. The 810 just gets throttled within seconds to 900mhz in phones we've seen so far, the water filled heatpipes do help, but as we see in the Xperia phones, they only help a little bit, the heat has nowhere to go and they still get throttled down quite badly. We'll see the same with these phones :\

I wish they would go for either an Atom chip, their own, Nvidia or Samsung's.

The 808 and 810 aren't good enough for a flagship chip.

Now this is the G flex 2, but other phones haven't been able to get it to work better, not even the heat piped Xperia Z5.

It's a failure of a chip and the 808 is a poor workaround which is basically just removing two cores to produce less heat.

Meanwhile the iPhone 6s barely gets throttled at all and keeps it's performance until it runs out of battery.

Didnt microsoft claim to have some new cooling system, will wait and see how reviews go. My bigger decider will be if theres support from Unity3D or Unreal Engine 4.

So, Windows 10 on Windows Phones has had the ability to install APK files, and run them as native apps, for a while now. It's part of the Project Astoria. There was a tool released a little while back called wconnect IIRC that allowed you to push APK files to the phone, and they'd show up in the installed app list on the phone.
Early builds had problems with Google's play service, but more recently Google Play was wrapped and working in apps too.

However, Microsoft broke/removed access to the APK feature in the latest build. Legality of running android apps on Windows? Or Google Simply not wanting to play ball, again? Who knows, hopefully it'll come back, but it'll probably also mean Continuum will get tablet apps running, and as a result Windows 10 on the PC will get Android apps too.

It's going to be an interesting time for Microsoft, thats for sure.

tbh I didn't even know Nokia or windows mobile was still a thing. I thought I heard humors Nokia's were going to run android when they dropped symbian?

Is there any improvements on browser? I absolutely hate browsing on Lumia. Have 920 and it is soooo annoying sometimes, pages keep reloading and web browser crashing on "heavy" webpages, comparing to iphone it is just cr*p. Although I like how smooth os and keyboard is great.

I just see numbers. I know In real world usage my G4 808 flies without any hiccups.

Phone is USB-C and the Continuum dock looks to have its own power supply. So I'm assuming they will both have their own power supply plugs which would either need to be used with a UK adapter or replaced at extra expense (as not standard) hence my reason for hating foreign plugs.

can't see the issue with the throttling comment. The operating system of the device is much less bloated than ios and android, the very reason I moved from iPhone, to android and then to windows phone. Regardless of that alleged issue, side by side comparison tests show this phone out performed each of the alternative flagships from the big 2.

Are there any sacrifices made in the phone for being dual-sim? like is it heavier than a single-sim phone? is it missing tech like NFC or something?

I've already pre-ordered from Microsoft and if there's no difference then I may as well cancel for this deal.

Ah fair, well any way, higher end Lumias in the past have had detachable cables, which makes it easier.

I ordered the Lumia 950 from the Portuguese seller, it was on hotukdeals and I cant find the thread now. Then I realized I will be charged VAT so the price will be more expensive than the UK. Hoping that with a month still to go the price might come down a little.
