Carphone Warehouse has reduced the Lumia 435 PAYG to £19.99 (plus from £10 top up on new connections) or £9.99 for upgrades. This phone will be eligible for a free upgrade to Windows 10 when available. Also has Cortana on board. Inexpensive Xmas pressie.
If you have a question READ THE THREAD before asking. Most questions have been answered, i.e. yes, the phone is unlocked. If you are too lazy to read, why should anyone else go to the effort to answer the same question again, just for you?

These were £4.95 awhile back, on a Virgin PAYG upgrade (you needed an eligible SIM) also from CPW. I bought two and sold them to CEX for £45 each in vouchers. You could upgrade with other service providers SIMs but it cost more. CEX are still paying £30 cash or £43 voucher for these, in green or orange, as new condition.

The Lumia 435 is one of the few microsim phones that will work with a nanosim so long as you have a nano to micrsim adaptor. The reason is that the microsim compartment is hinged and so there is no chance of jamming the nanosim in the phone

Great phone for the price you pay. The battery life appears to stand well whilst on standby and on WIFI if not a heavy user. Tempted to use the phone and ditch my android but I find it hard to accept that the primary camera is 2MPX, difficult to compromise.

Just to confirm, if I buy this on EE PAYG am I able to use my 3 sim in it? I went to two different CPW, one told me definitely not, the other one wasn't sure because they'd had issues with three in the past.
PaulHM to harrykyp
21 Nov 15#92
You definitely can not upgrade a 3 PAYG SIM anymore at Carphone Warehouse and I am pretty confident you can not upgrade using EE at the moment. However, the good news is that Lumia 435s are now only £9.99 on almost every other network, which means they provide you with an ideal opportunity to try out Windows Phone. If you do not like your Lumia 435 then you can sell it for at least four times what you paid for it and so this is a bargain whether you end up liking Windows Phones or not.

I'm using EE sim.
Trying to upgrade using Orange and it says serial invalid and won't let me press continue.
Trying to upgrade using T-Mobile, it lets me press continue, but then says this serial isn't eligible for upgrade atm.
What kind of BS is this. I don't want to spend £30 to get this phone and get a new number ffs. Even if I can change the number easily via PAC, £30 vs £10 is a big difference.

Yep when you get the phone it comes with the two apps already installed, HERE Maps and HERE Drive+, using them you can download maps for offline use and use it as a 100% offline satnav. The full UK maps are ~570MB so easily fit on the internal storage. To update the maps for new data or the apps (both of which are free) you would just need to connect to WiFi and hit update.

Got this for 9.99 as a PYG upgrade for Tmobile! Sweet! Looks like my work phone gets an upgrade!
Got one of these last year on their Black Friday Deals so theirs a possibility they might be on special again this year, its a good phone for the price, be weary though if you buy it with a top up as the sim is usually setup on a bundle so your top up will already be used to buy a bundle of mins and txts so i would recomemnd buying one on virgin as this comes as normal credit or the ee with the 7 day £1 bundle as you can cancel this and still get £9 credit to use at a latter date.

Great deal for a non-upgrade price! Windows 10 should be available for it soon, the pre-RTM version (build 10586.11) was released to Windows Insiders last night.
It was available for £10 on payg upgrade straight after release. This particular handset was designed to be sold at a low cost, it would have sold at the same price even with the Nokia name. The Lumia 435 has been way more successful than the Nokia Lumia 530 that it replaced, which was a complete flop.
Copy and paste the link below into your browser (copy by selecting the text first, clicking the link will not work) for Upgrade prices:
