Just picked up one of these Meegopads to setup some home-automation gear. This is a tidy little machine with two full sized USB ports, a SDHC reader a micro-usb power port and HDMI to plug into your TV.
Similar to http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/cenovo-mini-pc-tv-box-64-quad-core-intel-z3735f-bluetooth-4-0-windows-8-1-android-2312971. This is a touch cheaper and can plug directly into your TV HDMI.
This is the "Ubuntu" version (saves a few quid) but you can install Win 8 or 10. You can grab those here: http://x86pad.com/resource.html (just unzip it to a USB stick and pop it in the stick)

Wonder how it compares to a Pi2 for speed/processing power

Ah wrong thread, was talking about the Cenovo.

A copy of the Intel Compute Stick which is £80 but includes a copy of Windows. They've not without issues and Intel does have quite a few updates - at least you can get the latest drivers from Intel.
I'm not clear on the Windows download - is a key supplied also? It would not make sense to provision a Windows 8.x/10 key in the BIOS if selling with Ubuntu as they'd need to account for that anyway.

I can't seem to find the Intel version for a reasonable price.
I think MeegoPads Windows Licensing is dubious at best - I'm still experimenting. The links I gave you just allow you to install an unactivated copy of Windows (8/10).
Once I learn a bit more I'll share

Any device with the intel chipset can get updated intel drivers. That should be obvious to even the small minded.

It comes with Windows 8.1 and Android 4.4 dual boot.

Heat added for spec but take care as this plugs straight into your TV and everything hangs off of it so the chances are it will put strain on the hdmi socket.

Nah, power is provided via the micro-usb.

You can get extension HDMI cables for a couple of quid, that would save any extra strain.

Don't forget you can get 6.3% cashback at TCB for Dealbest's Cenovo (& anything else there).

I'm sure I've seen some versions of this stick, maybe the Hannspree or Intel that are supplied with a short HDMI extension cable. That being said I doubt the strain would add upto much, as stated above some heavy duty cables are ridiculously heavy and sockets seem to cope fine.

Yes I did mean physical strain. Noticed my ambiguity after posting. The damage can be done to the TV socket where it us soldered due to the leverage on the dongle

If there is a Win 8 key utilities show show it in the BIOS. Otherwise you need to be on their network for the OA3 tools in the image to contact their OA server (192.168.x.x) to generate the key/blob and flash into the BIOS. They should probably not have included the AMI tools & NDA guide - but they're not exactly secret

Guys you need to check out before buying the stick, This is way better in my opinion. More ports if required etc.
tbh there's no reason to plug anything into the USB ports, just use bluetooth!

Ah my mistake. To be honest it doesn't weigh much, but if you constantly switch it in and out - yeah be careful.

The stick is probably lighter than most hdmi cables.

I'm guessing @highwayman8155 means physical strain on the actual port rather than power. If you plug any devices into the USB ports it'll add weight to the device plugged into your hdmi port.

Ah nice, I would have probably picked that up if I'd known. Wouldn't mind another for BlueIris, though I'm not sure they have the horse-power.
I doubt you'd brick it, it's just EFI at the end of the day - should be relatively easy to recover

Would be interesting if Intel's BIOS would flash on the Meego as well. But then again you may just brick it.
