On the back of this deal I picked one up today at PCWorld...Having only ever used cheapo wheels that make games harder and end up being thrown in the loft after a few goes I was really hoping that all the G25/G27/G29 hype I've read over the years was true...

I'm not disappointed. Tried it on Drive Club and Project cars on the PS4 and I'm shocked how much better both games are. Drive club improves from being a pretty but meh Arcade racer to the best Arcade racer I've ever played...two practice laps and I was shaving huge chunks off my lap times.

Project cars though..wow..after spending hours trying to "tune" my DS4 control zones etc...(I'm sure most have tried all the settings people have posted on the web only to find them useless).
One quick calibration of the G29 and the wheel is perfect in Project Cars, instant response, amazing feedback and has transformed the game.
Don't think I've been so immersed in a racing game since the late night sessions hunched over an MFI desk playing Geoff Crammonds Grand Prix on the Amiga...(Google it youngies)

Got the Amazon Warehouse one for £147 in the end. Box was resealed and damaged but everything inside was sealed in wrapping and I assume brand new.

Great wheel so far as well, loving it on F1 2015. Can't wait to try it out on Project CARS.

I gave in in the end and bought it. Figured I will sell the G27 probably. Just bought the season pass for Drive Club so at least I can make decent use of it for that until more PS4 games get released that support it. Hopefully Logitech don't screw everyone again when the PS5 eventually comes out.

I'm aware it's used, hence why I added the last sentence what I was getting at was there had been another 10% taken off which I now know is the promo amazon are dong in the warehouse.

Anyway, for people concerned, mine came about an hour ago, plugged it in (PUT THE SWITCH TO PS4) and away you go, the new pedals are great!

I was drifting towards replacing my G27 with this but then read that it only works as a GT Driving Force wheel on PS3 and so doesn't even emulate the G27 with clutch on PS3.

Still the biggest issue to me is paying £180 for essentially the same wheel as I already have but with less PS3 compatability just to play a few PS4 games. Logitech are robbing gits, I'll stick to PC/PS3 for racing games and save £180/£205 as I would want the shifter possibly although the G27 shifter works too. Just shows Logitech is just money grabbing with this when they could have made the G27 work. All the "security chip" crap was BS.

The big difference between the 25 and 27 was the 25 had straight cut gears and the 27 helical, makes the 25 have a lot smaller deadzone and less rattly compared to the 27, 5% deadzone on the 25 compared to 15% on the 27, if anything Logitech wheels have been going downhill, although I would still buy one over that POS T300 that has a failure rate worse than my bird pulling ability!!

Why isn't there a T300 model for Xbox One, it has better racing games in my opinion.

If these were the same price I would say T300 any day, but £185 difference is a lot. Guess if you got the T150 which still compares to the G29 that would shave off £90 bringing the entire lot down to around £295

People always bring up the pedal thing but really the brake pedal is slightly better and for someone like myself I never use the clutch. The difference between the T300 and g29 is night and day if you.

I don't know about kicking themselves? TH8A shifter is 95 and the basic T3PA pedals with clutch are 90 that makes it all £185 more than the G29. Obviously the quality of wheel is not as nice with the G29 but pedals are supposed to be better and at £205 with shifter its substantially cheaper so kind of sets them completely apart at the current prices. Still a good price for the T300 though.

Correct it has the guts of the G27 shoved inside a new shell, They sort of done the same with the G25 and G27 but there was some upgrades,tweaking and the price didnt shoot through the roof.

Logitech seems very hit and miss nowadays which is a shame as i loved their products, Still using my few years old G500 mouse and i love it! Best mouse i have owned.

It's using Logitech's own code to emulate the G29. It's just like using your wheel with GT6, there's no lag and it's proper FFB.


You don't have to use the Teensy board. I used a Chinese clone of the Arduino Leonardo R3 which I bought off eBay for £6, the Pro Micro board which is even cheaper is also usable.

i already have a raspberry pi and laptop to test it on, the little connector is a tenner i believe so yes i am more than happy to do that.

also the g29 is a lazy excuse for an upgrade and i was told that it uses very similar internals. so i dont want more profit going in to their pockets!

The thrustmaster pedals are like from a child's toy though; you've got to fork out extra for proper pedals and shifter.

So tempted. Already have a DFGT but would love to play Forza with a wheel.

Tempted to upgrade from my G27. Love it but would be nice to be able to play drive club with a wheel although I have lost faith in Logitech lately.

Luckily I have a PC for Project Cars anyway.

As people in this thread seem to have a variety of other wheels to judge against this, are there any wheels available that will work across all platforms (Current gen XB1, PS4, PC, last gen 360, PS3)?

PC plus one console seems easy, but finding something that works with both XB and PS seems to be the problem. I don't want to have to pick between Forza or GT (or kick off that argument here!).

Would have bought if I had the slightest bit of trust in logitech on making this compatible with future consoles, but after what happened with the g27, thrustmaster t300 is worth paying the extra for me!

The G25 and G27 wheels have always held their price well on ebay. So much that if they were on sale it was a no brainer because a few months later you'd sell them for a profit if you didn't want to keep them. I'm not as confident this will hold it's price as well, especially if you don't get one with the gear shifter but I would be fairly confident that a year from now you decide to get shot that it'd still make £150 ish.

I've had my G25 since 2009 I think. If you care at all about proper racing games it's the only way to play and as fun as growing up with Gran Turismo was, after playing Assetto Corsa I can't go back to it.

How much more is a thrustmaster t300 these days? I have had the G27 and have the t300. The G29 uses the same 2008 technology of the G27, and isnt near as good as the t300.

The G29 is an extremely lazy upgrade from logitech to milk people of their money - if you are willing to pay £180 for a wheel, I'd recommend paying a little more for a far superior wheel in the t300.

Excellent price, Returned mine to Currys a few weeks back as i hated it!

Baring in mind i didnt try on my Xbox One (no issues ive heard) but for PC use i found it nothing but a headache and went back to my Driving Force GT, I found the overall wheel itself to not feel very premium and the stitching quality was awful that and even tho its a different shell G27 you cant use G27 settings for games such as Dirt3 so it made the game pretty much non-working for me and many others.

I personally wouldnt bother with the shifter either as i found that to feel very plasticy and flimsy.

if you have a g25/g27 i would say stick with it unless you need for PS4/Xbox then obviously upgrade.

For someone looking to use this on PS3, remember that this is effectively a Force Feedback GT when the button is switched therefore the leds and sold-separately gear stick shifter WON'T WORK! Just a heads up as some may prefer to buy a G27 for that reason.

I'm not fussed by the sound. Reliability in a wheel is what I'm looking for and some Amazon reviews of the Thrustmaster wheels have praised the belts but not their reliability.

Good price but I think I'm gonna wait for the thrustmaster Ferrari wheel to drop. wish Logitech had gone with belt drive rather than the helical gear system. it works, but its so annoying when you're playing the game and have the clicking and cracking of the Gears inside the wheel.

This is a great price, I sold my G27 on ebay last month for £185 :stuck_out_tongue: Ended up getting a Thrustmaster Ferrari 458 TX wheel for £210 from Dabs. I would have probably gone for the Logitech G920 at this price!
