Are they really made in Germany? Or do you just mean they are as good as German made in your opinion? I'm not knocking the deal as Lidl tools tend to be good value, but I'd just be surprised if the were really made in Germany.

ie Nothing to do with the place of manufacture. Is there any real evidence these are German made?

The simple fact that the metal bits are titanium nitride and the cement ones have carbide tips according to the above report suggests they are of superior quality.Anyway german address only no made in germany on label.Selling fast most gone!

Does it matter? Many "branded" goods these days are made in China or elsewhere . It means that these drill bits have passed the quality tests prescribed in Germany, so are much, much better than cheap drill bits of unknown origin.

The title says "German". In the absence of any evidence to confirm that, we're entitled to question their country of manufacture.

These are not branded goods.
There is a reference to a German test house. We do not know what tests they did, so that is not a guarantee of quality.
These may be better than stuff you buy on e-bay, or they may be to exactly the same quality level.

I'm giving these heat on the premise that they haven't deliberately amended the omissions report!

We all need some cheesegrade drill bits sometimes!

I bought these and used the largest metal one to drill out an old set of toilet hinges. did the job very well and still felt sharp. suggest quality....

.... and Remscheid is in the Ruhr, famous for iron and steel production and some 10km from Solingen, one of the most famous toolmaking centres in the world. So I'd say these drill bits are worth a punt - what the heck do you want for £3.99?.

Of course, the biggest difference between these drill bits bought at LIDL and any bought from ebay, is that LIDL is a physical shop and offers very good guarantees on the goods they sell. Next problem?

In my experience - though I haven't bought any Lidl tools for quite a while - Lidl tools can be quite variable in quality. Sometimes the quality can be amazingly good for the money, sometimes rather poor. Without trying any particular item you just can't tell. Even the same tool sold at one time can be good, the next time on offer poor. For example a few years ago I bought some pliers from them - they were remarkably well made, very strong with an excellent finish, I would have expected to pay three or four times the price from anywhere else. So the next time they were on offer I bought some more. Meh, they weren't weren't Poundland poor, but even though from a distance they looked the same they were in no way up to the same standard.

For £3.99, I would try these but without trying a set out first I wouldn't clear the shelves.
