I know, right. It's crazy. A decent amount of RAM in a decently built and supported device from a major manufacturer for this cheap. It's so unbelievable I had a chuckle myself.

Good luck with your tablet search then...4gb Ram in a 8" tablet for 80 Quid...dear me. guess I better throw my Note 4 with it's measly 3Gb Ram in the bin then...it must be useless

Nothing wrong with 1Gb Ram in tablet of this spec at this price. Half a dozen tabs of various brands/sizes in my home with 1gb Ram and all more than capable of running any app
Does this not have a front facing camera? Picture seems to suggest there is but specs does not confirm that.

Battery life is brilliant. Can get up to 30 hours continuous when using internet radio at full volume, AND using Bluetooth. Someone said they found the tablet laggy. Can't say I've ever had any problems since purchase in January.

It's the same with any android device though. Over time it does just inevitable slow down if you don't maintain it very well. Factory reset fixes that usually though.

I've had mine for a year and it's brill! Long battery life and great inbuilt stand:p

26 Oct 15#13
Had mine for just under year. It can't play the latest games and yes, sometimes it freezes, but the stand is incredibly useful and the battery is utterly phenomenal. I left it in standby for about 2 weeks and the battery went down about 15%. You can use it for a full day watching Netflix and you're probably only going to use half of the battery.
If you want something to read books / watch Netflix on this is the way to go.

Current Argos Nexus 7 deal is hot at 722 degrees, so this, being an 8-inch tablet (refurb) with 12 month warranty from reputable manufacturer & same retailer has to be a winner! Heat!

All depends how you abuse it I guess. While I've not had much luck with Android (for example, my Nexus 7 just died. One moment it was fine. Then it rebooted and wouldn't get past the start screen - even after a factory reset it's screwed) the only device I've ever had to reset to factory was my Samsung Galaxy Mini. That was a year ago and if you look at the spec you can easily guess why  Probably one too many memory consuming apps like Facebook installed on the guys tab.

Don't care about price otherwise I'll stick with my 4 year old netbooks with 2 gb ram
Uridium
26 Oct 15#32
In which case you'd be better off avoiding threads for low end tablets...you'll be looking at nearer £400 for a tab with 4Gb ram (which is totally unnecessary in an Android tablet btw as the device will be out of OEM Android support before a version of Android that really needs that much Ram is released)
From Android 4.2 Up....
1Gb is sufficient for basic use (browsing/light gaming)
2Gb will give faster response and better multitasking/app switching
3Gb will allow more (and higher core ram using) apps to be running and switched out without paging to swap
If your using apps that really need so much ram on a tablet your starting to veer towards the limits of what an Android tablet is useful for and should maybe be looking at a Windows convertible/surface pro

3.5 out of 5 on cnet so hardly sets the world on fire. Is this your post or do you work for Lenovo or some other reason you love them so much ? If you say it's really that good I have no reason to doubt you just find it hard to believe myself they haven't exactly been around for years and when it comes to PCs would rather have a dell or Hp or even nexus

As stated, Lenovo are a huge company that gives them a lot of buying power. Not all RAM is created equal which is why the Lenovo tablets and phones score so well on benchmarks due to the quality components.

Your probably right like TVs are all made by the same panel maker but you wouldn't want a badge that says "fisher price" on it! I've never heard of Lenovo before 5 years ago. Would be interesting to actually see one but I still think a second hand iPad is more appealing to most than a new "Lenovo" as everyone knows Apple works and are not slow

Hot from me.
Got one a year or so ago and it's in daily use with no lag - 1Mb is fine for what I want it to do, email, browsing etc. Build quality is what you'd expect from Lenovo, solid and dependable.
