Won't be a deal for everyone but seems like a pretty good gaming setup - a good i7 processor (an actual quad-core) and a GTX 960m card. It's actually a German product and is cheaper on amazon germany but they don't deliver the product to the UK. The downside is that it's got a German keyboard. However, I wanted a laptop with atleast a 960m card and couldn't find one cheaper (with a decent processor as well). Unfortunately doesn't come with an OS either.

Eorders.co.uk sell the reThink products. They are UK spec with full Lenovo warranty. These are returned goods or surplus stock. Savings can be around 30% of the original list price.

Oh I am so torn. Part of me thinks wait until black Friday in case there are great deals as £670 isn't far off the price of the Dell inspiron 15 for £699 when it came out and the code was available. £30-£35 more was probably worth it for a newer machine with the latest 6700HQ.

SSD is much faster for boot times, file transfers etc (i'm a bit of a noob aswell). I've gone with the SSD. The two links are different models for france and italy i think but with identical specs and us keyboards.

I'm waiting for the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 i7 6700HQ 16GB GTX 960M to drop down to £800 ish during black Friday/Cyber Monday. Arguably the best value for money Skylake i7 HQ laptop.
Can't see any i5s above this i7 on that chart (probably because this is a quadcore)..... maybe you're not telling us something? I don't have it yet, so no excuses for mixing the two up.....!

Yeah, that keyboard is definitely incompatible as the Y50-70 keyboard is part of the upper casing. The specific part numbers are in the link below at pages 86-88 but it's just not worth the time and cost (unless you're already taking the machine apart for some other reason).
Yeah $100 for the replacement cover, and then it's a bit of a mission to swap them because everything is screwed into the top cover and not the bottom.

Technically, I think this is a refurbished machine as the deal says "reThink GOLD" which is Lenovo's official refurbishment programme. I previously bought a Y50-70 from this seller as part of the same reThink programme. That said, it was immaculate - not a mark or even a spec of dust on it, so the quality is very good - just like brand new.
Not cheaply - it's built into the top cover.
You change the region and keyboard in Windows to UK and then you put on some vinyl UK keyboard stickers for the key positions that are different. You're only really talking about a few symbol keys here or there. They keyboard stickers are about £1-2 from Ebay/Amazon. Works surprisingly well though you lose the backlit lettering on the particular key (the individual key surround is still backlit).
As for this particularly deal, it's definitely HOT, though the lack of a proper OS won't make it for everyone. You simply won't find a 960m / full fat i7 / 256gb SSD machine for this price. I'm not a fan of the Lenovo Accutype keyboards - spongey feel and not enough feedback - but if you're not doing tons of typing, it's not the end of the world. The Y50-70 also runs cool and quiet for a gaming machine and you have several options to set the CPU/power consumption profiles in Lenovo Energy Manager for battery life or performance together with battery wear conservation. It's actually a pretty useful utility.

Well... I ordered an Asus VN7 from amazon warehouse deals the day before yesterday. 485 in very good condition. Had an I5-4210 processor (dual core and much worse), but it had a 960m aswell. However, the Amazon courier (amazon logistics) lost it. But comparing the performance in the two cpu's i think this is actually the better deal as it's quadcore and has a ssd.

Well its a decent saving. I used a German keyboard. Bought mine because is was cheaper too. Doesn't really make any difference. Y and z are switched etc. but really its no different. Keys are in the same place as in on UK keyboard just marked differently.
