i bought one from poundland two weeks ago, it lasted one run. In fact, it didnt even last that, i had to use my iphone torch to make my way in the pitch black nature reserve when the pound land one gave up on me.

serves you right for using cheap tat. This should be bought by people who occasionally need to use it and shouldn't rely on it in an emergency. If your gonna go into a nature reserve in the dark then you should buy something with a more professional build quality.

I read a cool camping tip somewhere and it works great. Get a clear 2 litre juice bottle, fill it with water then strap your head torch onto the bottle with the light facing inwards to make a great night light

I bought this for £1.73 delivered when it was last in here. Good bit of kit, well made & from a decent online retailer. Heat from me.

Useful if you just need one for occasional use but really poor quality overall and no good if you need it to be robust and reliable - you get what you pay for.

Got to admit I only use mine around the house and in the garage occasionally so this price is perfect and warrants that ! If I was going to use it in some profession or hobby then of course you would just buy better tried and tested products that are fit for that purpose. One would assume that is just obvious and I would hope no discussion is required.

These will last about as long as the batteries. I guess they are fine for occasional use but I would not rely on one for camping or outdoor use away from home. Their is a reason that good ones like Black Diamond and Petzl branded ones cost more. Not voting either way as you pays your money and makes your choice with this kind of thing.

Can't trust this company,I ordered one torch a couple of weeks back when their stock checker said they had over 260 in stock and yet I got a message a week later saying I won't be getting the item as they didn't have any stock. The only thing I did get from them was constant emails trying to sell me more stuff, that probably wasn't in stock either

I now have done. I knew I had another light source, the iphone light is fairly bright in an emergency.

I had the same silver light unit as this except bike-mounted.
You twist the end to turn it on and off, but the plastic is very delicate and broke off after a couple of weeks. The same component is used to hold the (spring-loaded) battery in so it was rendered useless at that point.
The LED cluster itself is fairly decent so I'm posting more as a warning to buyers: be gentle with it. I wouldn't buy it at the £4 I paid, but £1.62 is alright.
