Bought from one of them , they are US imports and Amazon UK won't provide service / replacement for them. So you are on your own.

Do a search on ebay. Several UK sellers have brand new 2015 model paperwhite for less than £80.

Just ordered with a £10 promo code and will ask them to refund £5 afterwards as it's cheaper elsewhere.

Tesco are selling them for £79 (with club card boost).
The Paperwhite is a totally different reading experience, don't get me wrong I sometimes pick up my tablet or phone to read a quick page or 2 through the kindle app, but find the Paperwhite is much more relaxing (screen lit wise) and it feels better to hold. Its swings and roundabouts, but for reading I think the Paperwhite wins hands down!

From a reading point of view i know this is probably best but would people recommend this over a kindle fire? As the fires now quite cheap could it be a better option or is the paperwhite worth it's cost?

For me I like something light to hold for reading. Paperlight is about 200g and a Fire tablet is about 300g. Worth considering if you read for long periods of time.

This, or a Black Friday iPad Mini? I know it's twice the price but feels like better value over all?

Depends what your needs are. I have this kindle and a family member has the iPad Mini. I tried the reading on iPad mini and thought it was good. I prefer my kindle for reading especially with the longer battery life. I charge mine up like once every 3 or 4 weeks while the iPad needs charged a lot more often. If you want to watch stuff, play some games, use apps then iPad Mini may be good for you. Can download the Kindle app on the iPad. But if all you care about is a good reading experience then this should be good for you. There's nothing wrong with reading on the iPad, I just prefer it on the kindle + haven't had any glare on the kindle screen but I do on the iPad when I'm outside on a bright day.
Free & low priced Amazon Kindle books galore. You do need to give them your email (I haven't had an increase in spam and I signed up 8 months ago), then select the genres you're interested in, and you get an email from them every day.

Do you all know there is an option on Amazon Kindle to see top 100 Free books...I've had a good few free ones, worth clicking through and reading reviews to see if they take your fancy.... recommend Girl on the train and The Letter (these weren't free unfortunately, 99p when I bought them)
Ooooh I love nothing more than making a cappuccino and snuggling in my huge swivel chair and getting lost in a good book

I have had almost every Kindle they release! ..... The latest Paperwhite model is by far worth every penny, the light is very much improved, so easy to adjust to your own preference, absolutely ideal for reading in bed, new bookerly font is easy reading, I cannot recommend the Paperwhite enough, and if you contact Amazon customer services and ask nicely 99% of the time they are happy to remove ads for free

For those who have used both the regular Kindle and the Paperwhite - Is the Paperwhite worth the additional cost over the regular Kindle? My wife had a regular Kindle but it recently broke (half frozen screen), and she's quite happy having a standard replacement Kindle to replace it. If it's worth the additional £25 I'll gladly purchase the Paperwhite for her.

I have a kindle fire, what is the difference if any?

The kindle fire is a tablet. As such it plays games, film's and can be used for books. Battery is around ten hours.
This deal is for an E-reader. Only useful for reading and battery life is measured in weeks.

Tempted although I have a Kindle 4 (2011) which works fine and has a nice official Amazon cover. I even have a little light that clips on the top.If the cover fitted the Paperwhite I would go for this.

You can contact Amazon and say something like it's a present received and ads are annoying. They will most likely remove the ads for free

Is this the 'without special offers' device or does this one have adverts?

Ebay argos also sell this at this price. Even cheaper if you have the 10% electronics coupon or £30 for selling £30 worth ebay coupon.
