It's about time the Tax Credit system was overhauled. It's used as an excuse by many to work as little as they can get away with and is also positively conducive to feckless layabouts producing as many offspring as possible.

sure, the millionaire Lord and tory donor and owner of Next voted not to support those in lowest paid jobs, many of whom work for money grubbing gits like him, but have to rely on state handouts to allow them to feed their family due to the terrible wages... he thinks these under-paid staff are not worthy of a living wage, while people like him are paying far less in tax than they should because their accountants say they're the worthy ones, not the shop staff.

May be a good idea to publish HIS earnings - bonus and pension on top of SALARY. You see, the rich and the ruling toffs trample all over us whilst they draw handsome salaries and generous pensions whilst they canNOT get transnationals to pay proper tax. They are NOT doing a proper job and they are hitting those people going about their business with £65 for having 2 back wheels over a yellow box whilst a police siren was muted at the background. They think we were council chiefs, royals or politicians and in this case, Next's CEO!

A quick question:
I know how to use a new code on new account, I mean you got to enter the code at registration when it asks, but how do you go about adding a code at the checkout? I can't see any promotional code field like you usually see on almost every other website. I heard if you haven't used your accounts in ages then you can benefit from this code thingy. So just wanted to give it a try if anyone has ever used it on existing account so how did you go about it? Thanks

Because the government doesn't allow for a fair minimum wage. Working a standard of 40 hours p/w at £6.70 is not enough to live on. They may call it a Living Wage, but that is just a title and not a fair representation of the amount people need to afford monthly bills. It's sad that businesses cling to the wall with NMW, but that's just business, unfortunately.
People around the world deserve to live, it's the government who should care for their people, to enable them to live and have a decent life (i.e. not to be searching the bins for food or sleeping on the streets). If there was a real living wage (which would surely differ from city to city) then your comment wouldn't be so narrow minded and ridiculous.

Tax Credits were invented for a reason, because big businesses threatened to withdraw from the UK over cost of wages. Wage levels have stagnated at the lower end over past 20 years. The Govt agreed to subsidise via the Tax Credit system but now want to withdraw it. They are asking big businesses to pay their staff more. People like the sliver-spooned Simon Wolfson choke on the thought of that.

Only in the UK could working people turn on themselves whilst allowing corporatuons to get away with not paying tax or contributing anything to society. It's not about party politics, all are as bad as each other. At the end of the day we just believe everything we are told. John Lennon was right about us.

Maybe you should cut down on your luxury spending through deals on this website if you're that hard pushed. Alternatively, try spending the time you're spending on here through your expensive phone or PC (money which you could've spent on your bills instead), and try work a bit more

for all those so concerned, depending on the value of your home, you could do ALL household bills including council tax for about £300 per month on a 2 bed place, accommodating 4 people. Depending on where the place is and the quality of it, rent would be from £300 per month upwards. So based on £920 take home money, there's still around £300 to spend on food etc. and that's just based on one working person for the 4 people.
mumofthree1982 to rohitmkiller

£300 for 2 bed accommodation?
spullot to rohitmkiller

Down south you're looking at £650 upwards for a two bedroom place, so your bills included, you are already spending more than you earn on minimum wage before considering food/travel/clothing/school expenses. What a load of nonsense.

What are you on? So I've posted a handful of Amazon deals, it's a deals site, you have that much of a problem with me posting a few Amazon deals, yet have posted many yourself guessing that evil doesn't directly affect you so much either. Pot kettle comes to mind. Your point has nothing to do with this post, corporate tax is not the same thing as tax credits.

8 Nov 15 1 #232
I don't have a problem with you posting Amazon deals. Just find it interesting that you have such strong opinions about Next over an opinion on tax credits, yet your moral outrage doesn't extend to Amazon and their alleged dodgy tax practices and poor treatment of its staff. But as you've said, it's a different kind of tax so its all ok...

I'll happily post Amazon deals all day long as I don't really care what they (or next) do - I don't have the selective moral principles you do - so I'm not sure what your pot kettle comment is all about.

Liam, looks likes you're still unable to receive private messages.
can I suggest clicking on your profile picture at the top right hand corner of this page and then clicking on profile settings. Scroll down to Private Messaging options and then click on Enable Private Messaging. then submit.
It might work alternatively contact a Mod.

What code do you need?
A £10 off a £15 min spend for opening a new account or a £20 off for you when you spend £20 and your friend spends over £50. Depends if you can split your order and take out two accounts (perhaps using other halfs details)
