Just picked up an iPod touch from Asda. (Cambridge Beehive centre). Scanning at £159 but let it go through at the ticket price of £75. They did have a few more on the shelf if anyone want to pick up a bargain before they change the price ticket.

As said above, they're change the price straight away. Won't just keep the ticket price out, lose a lot of money. They're change it. Good price though for an error.

Am I missing something, the actual price is £159. But the ticket price was £75. They honoured the price advertised. Surely that's not a deal just a f'up which I'm pretty sure has been rectified. Well done on getting it for £75 but I can't see any one else getting for this price.

**Actually if the store has not removed the price ticket or promotional point of sale when the price changed (this is some ones specific job that has a legal requirements( then they must honour the price shown...not the price scanned and falls under trading standards law . (please be aware this only applies if the ticket or promotional point of sale is still visible beside/below product)

actually this isn't the case, Google it stores dont have to sell the item if its wrongly priced they can refuse and remove the item from sale for 24 hours.

Utter tosh - any price shown is an 'invitation to treat' - they don't have to honour anything. They can remove the item from sale if they wish. Nobody is obliged to sell you something if they don't want to. Don't quote trading standards when you don't understand!

Actually that's exactly what I said. And they have changed the ticket.

This is true, they don't enter into a formal sale contract until money has changed hands, they have up until that moment to refuse the sale or update the price. Once they have taken your money and it's processed through the till and everything, it's now a contract of sale and they can't force you to hand it back or pay more.
