This is my very first comment on here, and it is a selfless one, I hope it helps anyone decide if it is a good idea to join this network...

I have been with id for 4 months and EVERY month I have been overcharged even though I am on a capped plan, every time I have rung customer services the bill has been made worse rather than rectified, I have now left them on gone with BT, who seem to be excellent so far.

The actual phone service is great, signal is good and it is 4G at no extra cost, but the capped plans will not come into effect for about 90 minutes or so and will lead to massive bills as the rates they charge for Internet is extreme to say the least.

I honestly can say they are the worst network ever, and that is saying something, but then again, don't believe me, just read the iD Facebook page, the wall is full of complaints about £400 pound bills for one month on capped plans....

i only posted today just to try and help anyone from going what I went through, if one person listens then it is worth the time it takes!

first post ever here..signed up last Sunday as 4gb data for a tenner sounded sweet.

I've been trying since Tuesday ever few hours to set up my number to ported with no luck via the app. 5 calls later to the most pointless customer service team ever, no solution in sight and there answer is always the same, "try again later..".

if you have joined yet.. don't, especially if you would like to keep your number...

I ported a Three (3) number over to iD Mobile via my account on their website. The application was sent late on a Friday afternoon, if memory serves me right. I put in the PUK code in to authorise the transfer and on Tuesday the number was ported. I contacted iD Mobile via their Facebook page to see how long it takes and they said that they don't process number porting requests over the weekend and that it would probably be on Tuesday that the transfer was completed.

All in all, it was a pretty simple transfer and I hope you get sorted soon.

This 5£ cap, if you go over your data allowance does it just eat into the cap meaning your bills are always 5£ more each month?

Most networks just stop your data when you run out. Using the 5£ buffer for calls/texts I can understand, but data?

Hi there.

Just to confirm for those asking about keeping your iD number - unfortunately we aren't able to port iD to iD numbers. We know this is frustrating and we're working hard to make sure you guys get the best experience possible with us.

However we are able to port numbers from 3's network.

Thanks

Well surprise surprise, 48 hours later and no-one has called me back. Such a simple issue that seems to be impossible to fix.

Their FB page team have responded telling me they've found a data issue then 24 hours later in a follow up message it's clear they're trying to fix a problem I don't actually have.

Seriously how hard can it be. I signed up for 1GB data....i have 500MB. Just click the right tariff. I can't think it's any harder than that!

Worse customer service I've ever experienced. Was sold this on the basis that data works in Europe same as 3 network. It doesn't, and they've refused to refund anything. Infact charging me an extra month disconnection fee.

It makes me laugh reading these reviews. If you're getting over charged then there is a reason behind it, no network over charge you for no reason.... you might want to make sure you're not phoning 0800 numbers or going over your data. I have been with iD coming up to 6 months now with the unlimited data plan and I can't knock it! Brilliant 4G especially if you're in a strong serviced area and can download at around 1.2mb/s. I have tethered also, as someone above said and they haven't issue any warning saying it is not allowed.

Nothing wrong with the network and if you're being over charged phone the network and ask why.

(I work for Carphone Warehouse but I'm not just saying this)

UK Mobile networks no longer charge for 0800 numbers.
catlady40 to Walsheh
25 Nov 15 1 #66
The reason for the over charging is they can't get the tariff correct!!! I am on unlimited texts but they cannot, despite my numerous hours on the phone, get that sorted, so every text costs 14p. I know how to use a mobile and what numbers to use thank you, may I suggest you help your customers who you have sold this to to sort their issues out, rather than be so patronising. They owe me nearly £100 , despite promises to sort it they seemingly can't. May I suggest you check out your companies reviews and the Twitter account, you might learn something!

Utter rubbish coming from someone who works for Carphone Warehouse, which owns iD.

I haveto admit that the guy in Carphone Warehouse when I signed up was epic, but after they had my details, they didn't want to know and told me that if I had any problems I had to ring the iD helpline and not them.

Be very careful. I applied for a double data SIM on Monday. SIM arrived Tuesday but I have no double data. Customer services cannot seem to fix this. Surely this is a basic issue!?!?! The helpdesk said they'd call me back within 48 hours (yeah right!). Their FB team have spent the entire day and literally just replied with "we have identified some possible data issues and we're still looking into this for you,..." Wow...no sh*t sherlock.

It seems all the warnings are true. They do seem about as useful as a chocolate teapot.

There have been at least two instances that I'm aware of that resulted in failed credit checks, when the actual check did not take place. I wasn't happy when I received my failed credit check e-mail and that's when I decided to dig a little deeper and iD Mobile admitted that there was a problem with their credit checks as they'd had a lot of failed results and probably a lot of unhappy (potential) customers.

I think it took ten days to get everything sorted and the new phone delivered, but I did miss the first phone call from a representative to sort out my new contract so it would have been sooner had I took that call. The porting of the phone number from 3 to iD Mobile took a couple of days - they don't process those requests on a weekend.

Some may say that ten days is a long time to get it sorted, but the contract I took up was well worth it as I needed a new phone and this was the cheapest way (by a country mile) to get a contract and a new phone.

So, if you failed the credit check at a time when there was an issue, you may find that another order is processed when a check actually takes place.

Thanks for the heads up. Signed up yesterday and got my confirmation (after credit check) through this morning. Can't remember having a credit check with giffgaff or talk talk mobile. Hoping it'll all go smoothly after reading everyone's comments! I've gone for the £5 a month Shockproof SIM only 30 day rolling contract. 250 mins, 5000 texts & 1GB. It's less than 1/2 the price of what I'm paying at the moment so it's got to be worth a try.

I am actually happy with the service and coverage but the fact they couldn't reduce my plan in line with their new price and suggested jumping through hoops to keep my number made me change my mind quickly. That and the fact if you hit or go over your price cap through calls or texts they instantly stop your data, even if you still have allowances left.

I use them and I can tell you it is most definitely Three! Here's what Ernest Doku, telecoms expert at uSwitch.com, had to say:

It's quite a coup that iD piggybacks off Three’s network given that Carphone Warehouse hasn’t offered any deals from the network in years," he said in an email. "Perhaps iD was the olive branch."

No, that's why I'm leaving them as they reckon they can't change your plan and advised me to take a plan with another provider, port my number to them then back to a new plan with iD if I want a better deal with them and to keep my number.

I was able to port a 3 number to a new iD mobile contract. However, I have heard some networks don't or won't port numbers from the same network - iD mobile use the 3 network, but they have the facility to port from the network they run from.

On the subject of failed credit checks, iD mobile is well known for their checks coming back with failures, even though the check may not have taken place. My new contract with them failed the credit check and I've never missed a payment. So, I contacted them by email and via their Facebook page.

They realised that lots of customers were failing the credit check and after a bit of polite nudging from me, a representative called to process the new contract. Quite a few others got caught up in the issue and many of them got the deal.

I found the process to sort things a little time consuming, but being polite and persevering paid dividends.

I have another contract with 3 and I had to contact them to order a nano SIM card. The call went straight through and the representative sent me a new card in the post. Upon receipt, I called them again to port my number to the nano SIM card and there was no queue.

The 3 call centre may be offshore, but as long as you clearly explain what you want, I've always had a positive experience from them. Contrast that with O2 and the many problems and network issues I suffered until my contract came to an end. I was a loyal customer since the BT Cellnet days, but I would not go back to O2 again and 3 have given me a problem free service at a good price.

You're able to switch off all you need to enter your mobile settings-apps-more-call-voicemail-voicemail settings-vm. number and now copy the number and save it into your contacts then delete it from the setting menu, save the blank gap and that's it. No number no notifications. Later if you need the vm. number you can find it in your contacts.

Check their customer service reviews out very carefully before signing up. It's taken nearly 3 months and hours on the phone to get my tariff sorted out.
They offer good rates and the widest inclusive roaming deals on the Takeaway Plan.

Does this balance the poor customer service? Tough to answer...

Why people go on about custom service all the time i don't know because all custom service is bad now days
i think it depends where you live because i have been with Three for about 4yrs and only rang them 2-3 times and got through with-in a couple of mins and when you are on the phone waiting it always seem longer than it is.
I think out of all the company's i rang BT was the worst and then my doctors in the morning.
