They have been pulling stunts like this for the last 4 years, a few things I remember them doing :-

• They moved a lot of home customers to business customers, which means they only had to honour a 30 day warranty on all sales.
• They had a CS nightmare, where they showed a CS leader board where they were ranked by returns refused.
• They do not always honour 1 year warranties, they use the SOGA partial refund clause, then send the item back for a full refund themselves.
• Numerous bait and switch 'offers' to develop customer databases and other site traffic.

Thanks OP, managed to get one before they upped the price. I called HP and they did confirm cashback on this product without the toner. The guy I spoke to confirmed cashback of £120 and not £100 so maybe he didn't have a clue.

This is a great deal, but this is a ink jet printer. I would prefer a laser printer, as they are normally cheaper to run and also with my very low usage patterns, I dont have to worry about the ink clogging up and so on.

They have a Laser printer, HP Color LaserJet Pro 200 M252dw, which is £170, but also has £100 cash back, which is capable of duplex printing and allow NFC and wireless printing form Phones, tablets, laptops, etc.. and also Wired and wireless capable. It does only have 150 paper tray. Good for home or SOHO usage.

Just to clarify, some retailers use supplier stock levels for some items. So generally when a product says 'x in stock but we need to order it in', then they will be ordering it in once you place an order. So that particular product code is probably from one of their suppliers. The one you wanted is now out of stock, so no, they won't have to honour it at the price in this deal.

Click on My Orders -> Order Number -> Stock Problem (Status). You should get those 3 choices.

It was in stock when ordered, then went miraciously out of stock after it was ordered. When I ordered they were hundreds in stock.

I am on the phone now, and have a neat voice recording of their staff reading off both orders. And basically proving that they have outright lied.

I take it this is the first time you have been caught up in an internet pricing error.

Why not? FB and twit are just feeds that connect to their site. Someone made a mistake listing it on their website, gets uploaded to FB/Twitter and didn't realise until it hit HUKD.

Your going to sadly be disappointed. A shop/vendor can sell the same product at different prices and its not against the law. If this was true, a shop could not do a 'special offer' to the first 100 sales on an item, or a house builder offering a discount to the first few houses sold off plan.


You voice recordings are worthless in court, unless its a tamper proof recording (very expensive equipment that the likes of banks, insurance and loan companies use). And you may actually find you were breaking the law yourself unless you informed eCrooks you were recording the call 'for training purposes', kappa.

So ordered the cheap one and order said no stock. Ordered another at £300.71 and ordered processed and payment taken. Shops up as processing.

Rung Ebayer, very funny. Initially oh there is no stock, it's been a popular product (speaking about the cheap printer). "Are you sure there is no stock" I ask. "Most certainly no stock". Gave then new order number and they tried to say the cheap one was part of a package with the paper but there was no paper! I said oh you can leave that off don't worry just send me the printer and refund the price difference. Basically put me on hold and they then said no stock and money will be refunded but order still there.

Now cancelled but still lets you order the printer at £300.17 price lol. Should I just order it again at £300. I'm liking this game! I may actually see if I receive that one and then see if they try and do the no stock again!

Yep, it appears they do have stock but won't allow valid orders to go through. Instead of coming clean with we are not willing to fulfill the orders at the price you paid they are saying the product is sold out. Bad bad bad.

On a side note, most newer HP trade-in and cash backs have had a maximum cash back value of 50% of the purchase price, so I would check the small print in the full T&C's to see if this is the case on any new HP deals.

So you're person A, and you sign a contract say for person B (Sky TV). Once it's signed it's legally binding.

Same when you buy something, once money has been accepted it's a legally binding sale, they are entitled to give you what you paid for. It's up to YOU whether or not you accept a refund, or something else in exchange. You don't have to accept a refund once money has been taken.

For example, try ringing up Sky and cancelling your contract, just straight up leave it. They'll give you hell. That contract is as legally binding, as a sales of good contracts. So why is it not breaking the law?

Contracts don't have to be signed, they can be witnessed, they can be verbal contracts. Online contracts aren't signed, once your press a button and submit your information thats equivalent to an e-signature. By accept terms, thats you signing the contract.

Check their Twitter Account, they are still advertising the Deal at 1p after cashback. There is no dispute over whether it is a Pricing error, it's clearly not. This is a blatant Bait and Switch, saying that the item is out of stock at the lower price, and yet still selling it at the higher price.

Fallen foul to this from eBuyer before on a Monitor "misprice", I think eBuyer need to be removed from HUKD for unscrupulous business.

This doesn't seem cancellation note and they may try to back order the stock. But, it may take long and if they are not able to find stock before 31st then Invoice date may not have 31st Oct on it and HP may not allow cashback. Next day delivery was default.

I ordered the first one straight away as it was posted on here so you were lucky to get it as mine was the stock issues email and I would have cancelled as I would have wanted to risk HP declining the cashback due to the date.

"We may be getting more in stock, but at that price we won't. So I have had to cancel your order for you and refund you in full."

Alot of waffle re trading standards anr recording of phone call where the operator said item was out of stock and nothing to do with them being different prices!

From my experience with these lot, the invoice is generated and dated when goods are dispatched.

Will not be surprised if they magically have a 'delivery' of these printers just after Nov 1st.

You would be best to contact ebuyer and see if they date the invoice from the 28th ( paypal monies taken ) or ask them to date it from then.

I've had a look around the Internet and it does seem with Ebuyer that the invoice date is the shipped date.
I've sent them a enote to ask if this is the case and see if I can upgrade my delivery they will probably turn round and say they have no stock and cancel my order but I would rather them do this then get the printer next week with a November date on the invoice.

I have just cancelled my order as they were planning to deliver and invoice in November, time to refer to trading standards

The printer was showing as in stock at £199.98 this morning. Changed my delivery to a Sat one and lo and behold it refused to allocate one to me. Can't find it on the website now.

My delivery date is 4th November.

Just spoke to Ebuyer (0371 521 3300), they are saying that invoice will have the delivery date (04/11/2015) and they can't change it to 28th October.

I rang HP promotion team (020 3027 7423), they are saying to get £100 cashback, I should need to prove that I bought the item before 01/11/2015 and there is only way to prove is invoice. According to HP, it will take max 45-days for the cashback and return to Ebuyer is 14-days.

My question is, will I cancel the order?

I'd cancel and just never use that shower of sh*te again. Ebuyer have lost my customer forever over this. Disgusting

The date the money was taken is the date of purchase of the contract, the date of delivery is just that a delivery date. Unless Hps terms and conditions specify the item has to be delivered before a certain date, it is totally irrelevant.

I didnt want to take any risk with me paying 100 and left out with a huge printer with no cashback,

Purchase date, is the date the money was taken out, if it has the wrong date I will simply ask Trading Standards for clarification, also advertised with cashback offer.

Worse case scenario is I return the printer as its "not as advertised", no cost to me. Just like the toilet rolls.

Ebuyer have confirmed to me their invoice date is the day it's dispatched

I've told them since they are aware of the HP cashback promotion as it was advertised alongside the printer then if the Invoice is dated after 31st OCT then they can cancel and refund my order.

I contacted both Ebuyers first and than HP (sent an emal [email protected]), not sure if that's was the reason.

But I haven't received the printer yet, hoping for the best.

Item has been shipped and est delivery date is 02/11/2015. When I ordered the printer the delivery date was 04/11/2015 and this new email is showing est 02/11/2015.

Logged into my Ebuyer account and it is showing invoice date 30/10/2015.

Just received/signed for "80gsm A4 Printer Paper" without printer.

Now Yodel is showing delivery date 02/11/2015.

Did not understand, one item (printing papers) delivered today and printer is missing from this order.

They are separate of course, more likely it's Yodel doing this, as long as you get it and invoice dated 30th, no problem.

Shambles really, I bet if you order anything else using the free super saver delivery that it will be dispatched the same or following day. Ebuyer keep on doing this time after time. Maybe they do it to get free publicity but the way they handle things the only thing they get is negative publicity and customer dissatisfaction. They are becoming in the same league as eclipse computers and destroying their own reputation.

I submitted my cashback on last Saturday but has not got approval or even a response from HP.
As far as I remember, terms and conditions were showing some days for approval but it's more than week. I've just sent an email to HP.
Is there any one else got cashback approval? How long usually HP take for the approval?

Nov 07th Email from HP Promotions claim has been released for further processing, and payment will be transferred within 45 days to the account stated by me at registration.

Nov 17th £100 Cashback credited to my Bank Account.
