As per title this is the Hornby Santa's Express train set which usually retails for around £50, so seems like a bargain - especially if you're looking to run one around your Christmas tree this year!

On that page near the top, it will say "x new from £36.49". Click that link and you'll then be able to order it at this price from Amazon themselves. Although as others have said, they are currently out if stock so you may have to wait a while before it gets delivered.

Done the same. You are right the holiday express set was rubbish. Took mine back the next day.

I got the Caledonian Express for my son last year, and the track layout is the same. Can you buy this christmas express train on its own?

Cheers went for one, a piece of track costs £2 normally, so you've got £20 of track. These cheap sets are a great way of expanding or starting a train set.

Having now read the Amazon description/reviews am I right to think that although this kit doubles as a fantastic Christmas decoration, you can also play, I mean 'use' it as a normal starter train set?
brdevine to slipd
6 Nov 15#13
Yes, it's just a normal train set with a Christmas theme.

It's a nice little track for under the tree. We got one last year but we wanted the track to be circular rather than oval. The power connector is in the straight section of track so look on Amazon/Ebay for a connector for connecting the power to the rounded section of track if you want to go circular. This is the connector I bought from Amazon last year.

Great Price !
Hornbys retail price is £69.99 and out of stock, Argos are showing £69.99 but currently reduced to £49.99. So that makes Amazons price a really good deal in my opinion.
Thanks
