I'll have to contact him, can't wait to win my million. Thanks for the tip.

The point I'm making is that it would be way too naive to say that because it's digital it's not subject to any interference or signal loss. If you can't understand that then I will pray for you.

Just not true. They perform the same job and in principle the same way. However, that does not mean that they are as effective as each other, because they're just not. I very much dare you to carry out a series of blind tests between a basic entry level HDMI cable and a premium cable. You will definitely see a difference and it'll be easy to work out which is using the better quality cable.

There really can be. Straight from the get go. Not huge differences, just small ones in clarity and colour representation to start with.

James Randi ... but it appears that since 2007 no one was able to demonstrate a difference in either expensive HDMI or expensive speaker cables. He has retired and his foundation got bored waiting.

Mind you don't hit your head as my comment flies over.

Research what... Because a DAB signal can be poor means HDMI cables are better when they're expensive because they're both digital? Waste of time with that logic.

Hmmmm, not quite a good analogy by you. If a potato and a banana were both using digital signals to provide quality nutrition then yes that would be a credible analogy.

Yes. The principles of the digital signal still apply. I recommend you do some research and independent thinking.

who is offering it? I will easily be able to win it!

If you can prove a £60 HDMI lead performs better than a £5 HDMI lead there is a $1,000,000 prize available. It was offered back in the days of £200 Scart cables but no one was able to prove they were better than £15 Scart cables. A certain level of quality is required to ensure adequate shielding ... but you get all the quality you need once you've spent the first £3. There is simply no more quality to buy after that point. Sorry but it's just science.
It's quite easy to prove digital data pumped in one end turns up at the other end. Guess what. An HDMI lead from Poundland is quite capable of transferring data from one end to other. As I say, there is a million bucks for the person who prove me wrong.

Oh... I see what you're getting at comparing DAB radio to a HDMI cable. Sort of like how a potato and banana are the same thing, neither take a good photo.

Are you comparing DAB to HDMI cables? I thought you were being serious.

15 Dec 15#24
Simply not true. Have you ever considered why you can get crackle and not so good signal sometimes with DAB radio? same principal. So forgot your capital 'LOL' and have a think.

Go post your 'findings' on hdtvtest.co.uk, avforums.com or avsforum.com, sites where the big boys play. You will be laughed at all the way back to school. Not even manufacturers make the outrageous claims you do. If you think a £100 pound HDMI cable will perform better than a £2 one then you're obviously one of those conspiracy theorists and there is nothing I say will change your mind.
There is only one exception to this rule. If a cable is not made to adequate manufacturing tolerances in that case you will see sparkles on the screen, it is clearly faulty. Otherwise all HDMI cables perform exactly the same.

Right. There are a few exceptions to the rule, but it doesn't mean a £100 cable is better than a £10 one. It will be a blue screen

Unless you're using very long HDMI cables, there won't be any visual difference between a cheap and expensive HDMI cable. If you think there is, it's a just placebo effect.

"near perfect quality" ?...."decently acceptable" ? ....it's a Digital signal ....it'll either work with a perfect picture or you'll get a blank screen ....LOL

lol Steve. I've done research and tests. You're the lazy one that can't be bothered to find things out yourself and prefer to go with popular view rather than correct view.
What do I care though about you? I can enjoy near perfect quality movies and gaming with my higher quality leads, you can go and watch your decently acceptable stuff.

Stop spreading garbage, there is no difference in signal quality. It would take you all of five seconds to find that out yourself but because you're lazy:-
This is a overspecced cable - feels heavy with a thicker gauge cable and solid plugs, the kind of one that you would pay double digit pounds for in a high street electrical shop.
Note that the clearance required around the HDMI plugs is marginally larger than normal and the bend radius of the plug and cable assembly is large.
Feels like a solid expensive product, although we all know that because the signals are digital this will perform the same as a cheap one.
Note that you need £5 +VAT for free delivery.

there is a difference. signal is there yes. as it's digital so not interference.
Is all of the signal transferred? not necessarily as this is down to shielding and SNR of the cable - result of material quality and build quality and no. of layers of shielding.

Seems rare for any devices to support it.
Spotted some that we 30cm but more expensive lol.
Quality product.
No different to the cables you pay £20 Plus for in currys etc
