This is currently £66.50 on Amazon UK but only £49.90 on Amazon.fr and I've not seen it cheaper, this is great price for a fantastic remote control, simple enough for the kids to use with no worries about touch screens, etc. with the mobile app providing even greater control. If you've used a Harmony remote before you'll find setup a breeze, if not it takes a few hours to get to grips with but it's well worth the investment in time and money. I spent £90 on my first unit and was happy at this price and purchased this to use in the kids playroom so am well chuffed.

It may be a better solution but (a) I see no colour buttons on the remote and (b) without a smart phone how do you from watching Sky to watching Kodi on a separate device at the press of 1 button ?

I think this is the 'better solution' because all of my harmony remotes (I had 2 of the 880 versions) eventually fail in some aspect and then you are goosed. Even if this remote fails (I think it will last much longer than the old style remotes) you can still use the app on a phone or tablet. All the clever stuff is run via software on the hub/app.
It was £50 in the amazon sale last year....so those of us with the half price Bespoke (RIP) vouchers got a bargain!

I've used Harmony remotes for the last 9 or so years, I'm not going to say I never dig out the original remotes from a drawer but I can say it's only 2 or 3 times a year for some of the rarer functionality such as reconfiguring my amp. (This could be done via the phone app with the Smart Control if you wanted.) For day to day use it's just so much simpler and becomes expected, if I visit someone else's house it seems strange having to find the right remote for volume, channel, playing blurays, etc.

And in addition allows you to control bluetooth devices such as PS3/4's, Wii's, Amazon Fire Sticks etc which you cant do with a standard Harmony remote.

I am confused.
I currently have a Harmony 525 which has additional buttons which lets you switch activity, have additional 'buttons' via an LCD screen and let you control any device at any time, etc. Does this version of the Harmony remote not do any of that ?
What is the purpose of the separate smart phone app ? Does this mean I would need both this remote AND a smart phone to do what I can currently do with just 1 remote ?? Seems a bit backward to me to split what was 1 remote across two different devices (one of which won't always be available unless you resort to buying another smartphone just for use with this)

The smartphone App works with the Hub not the remotes, it is basically turns your phone into another remote.

I've had this for around 8 months now. Overall it's good, a lot easier than using 3 or 4 remotes. However it doesn't always work, sometimes the activities will miss switching input, miss switching something on/off or if you press the same activity button that its already on it messes things up. Then you have to use the phone app to fix the issue. So if you don't plan on using the phone app as well I wouldn't recommend it.
They do take a bit of setting up as well if it doesn't work out properly out of the box. My TV needed a longer on delay because Plasma takes longer to start up.

I currently have the Harmony Touch 2.4 and am sure when I bought it that I had read that a Harmony Hub could be added to it.
When looking this morning I cant see anything to confirm this!
Are there any Logitech Harmony Gurus out there who can confirm that the Hub that comes with this would "enhance" my current remote.
I've ordered one of these so perhaps I should just use this Smart Control Package and flog the Harmony Touch.
Any advice gratefully appreciated.

Good price. This model is discontinued now and I was hoping to see a decent reduction seeing as it had been around £60-£70 for many months now. I have the Ultimate myself but am after this as a gift as I think the numbered buttons would be liked.

Bought this a few months back and its been great!
Have it setup for control some mood lights as well as stick on the radio in the mornings to help me get out of bed a bit earlier. It also gives you the option of using an old android tablet as a remote control too.

How does it comare to the harmony 650. I enjoyed using my harmony 650 for the last 4 years, but its finally showing its age. So looking for a new harmony remote.
I enjoyed the sensor on the 650 that had backlight come on and little screen whenever it was touched, great for when the lights are off... Does this remote have anything similar?

there's no backlight - but i've not missed it. i upgraded from a similar model (the 725 - same as yours, but with more devices, basically) and have found this thing beats it in pretty much every respect. also, if you do need a backlight - you can use your smartphone or tablet instead of the remote.
the only thing i've missed is the labelling of the actions via the screen at the top - you have to rely on memory for the short/long press actions. other than that, though, it's excellent. also, if you do find that you miss the backlighting etc., you can buy the advanced remote and link it to this system as well and have the best of all worlds. so far, i've not felt the need, mind you.

As bladesuk1 says you quickly get used to the simplicity of the remote, I replaced a dying Harmony 885 with this and find it far better, all the common functions on a remote which you quickly learn the button layout for (so no backlight required) with the other functions available on the phone app. It has the advantage of being simple enough for the kids (and wife) to use!

They had the Ultimate for £35 more a few weeks ago - that really is a fantastic bit of kit, controls all my A/V gear, my consoles and even the Hue lights in the house. Very similar to this but with a colour touch screen.

Check the UK site for review 4.5 stars with 164 reviews, 99 5 star and 33 4 star. Most negative reviews stem from the fact they do take some work to setup 'right' or from people expecting a standard remote, Harmony remotes are based around activities such as Watch TV, Watch a Film, Play Xbox with the remote controlling aspects across all of the devices involved in an activity.

Bought one of these a few days ago and it has been a nightmare to set up and is still not working, it doesnt allow me to connect to my wifi at home. Logitech on the case but dont seem to have any answers at this stage...

That's unlucky I've setup for a few people now and haven't had any real problems with these. I've had issues with unrecognised devices in the past with some of their other products but Harmony support has always been great, fingers crossed they sort for you!

Hard to say pre-release but it can control other bluetooth based devices, obviously won't have the touchpad so would depend if SKY have also enabled the simpler remote of the Q-mini (or similar) to control the larger boxes I would think.

Oddly I ordered a large spanner set from Amazon .fr. It stated it was a UK import. It was appx £18 on Amazon .fr and £40 on Amazon.uk. I live in France but had to wait longer for the delivery as it came from Amazon.uk so yes Amazon definately screwing the UK.
