Last time there was a big misprice on Tesco was with GTA V PS4/X1 for £20. It was a few months ago but they honoured one per customer. But I mean £10 will be too far off what they paid for it to actually honour it in my opinion. So incoming cancellation emails all around.

What does it mean by guide price? Can they just up the price and charge the proper price any time?
CBK to Kristcobain
25 Nov 15 #26
About Guide Price
Why the price you pay may be different to the website price:

The price may vary between the order time and the delivery time.
Prices of weighed items (like fruit and vegetables) and pre-packed weighed items (like meat, poultry and cheese) will vary slightly from what’s on the website.
Unavailable items will need to be substituted.
All prices are expressed inclusive of any VAT payable unless otherwise stated. The rate of VAT is 20%.

When your order is delivered you may return any item and receive a full refund if you consider that the difference between the price charged and the guide price shown on the Grocery website is unacceptable.
davver99 to Kristcobain
25 Nov 15 #27
Yes so if tomorrow it's more the price will go up

Best bet is collecting

Order went through.

If they do notice and price rockets back up, I won't incur the charge, right? They'll just cancel the order? I wouldn't want 50 quids worth of games to turn into 250 quids worth without my knowledge/say so.

They can change the price by the time it reaches you.

Tesco direct is same but I must say they been good to me refunds for things when I didn't even ask for a refund like 3 prada after shaves . Gift cards and many games like the time gta 5 when was £20 they honoured . Lately thou orders on direct are getting cancelled days later . Ordered aload of staff this morning metro redux and many other games if they don't get dispatched I be getting something out of them . But as said Tesco have been good to me so cant really moan

* Why might the guide price be different to my final bill?
The guide price is based on today's prices instore. However as we shop for your order on the day you want it delivered, some of the prices may have changed.
The guide price uses an estimated weight for weighed items like grapes and cheese. But what you pay will use the exact weight, so the price may vary slightly.

I've never been over charged from online shopping they usually send a replacement even if it costs more. Looking above it only appears to apply to weight. Are these games £9 in store today? nope. Is it right for Tesco to charge x 5 of the "guide price" nope.

Let's see what they do.

So ordered mine - i thought i was on the understanding if something like this is online, bought and accepted it then HAS to be honored? consumer rights and all that jazz? they cant cancel an order onces its made at a certain price - same as price matching in store? if something is priced wrong they have to honor the price its been priced at? am i right or wrong?
voyager123 to Nutmonk
25 Nov 15 #129
Not f it's in there terms and conditions, they state that if there is a price difference when they scan the stuff in store you will be charged that price but you can refuse when you pick it up and get a refund
CBK to Nutmonk
25 Nov 15 #131
Wrong, this is Tesco GROCERIES. Clearly states Guide price terms all over.
IronGlaive to Nutmonk
25 Nov 15 1 #132
They don't have to honour anything until you have the receipt in your hand. Then its yours, up till then the retailer has the right to refuse a sale (that has always been my understanding).

Or they'll just tell you the demand was so great its now out of stock, then cancel for that reason etc.
jackanape to Nutmonk
25 Nov 15 2 #139
That's only true online once you have been charged for an item - Tesco list these prices as a "guide price" only and will only charge upon collection or delivery. At which point you'll be charged full price as these are NOT reduced in store, which is where they scan them.

I look forward to those that ordered 10+ having to sort out their maxed out credit cards.
davidian84 to Nutmonk
25 Nov 15 1 #146

Looks like this might be the case:

"Are the prices on the website and mobile app the same as in-store prices?

We aim to always show the same price online as we do in store. Although there may sometimes be discrepancies as we advertise promotions one day in advance in order to show you upcoming deals. The price you’ll pay for products is the price of the product on the day of delivery / collection across both online and in store purchases.
You will also pay for your delivery on the day of delivery /collection.

Your order is an offer to buy from us. A contract is only formed when we notify you that we have despatched your order or notify you that your order is available to collect at the store (as applicable). At any point up until then, we may decline to supply the goods to you.

If you can afford to have 40 odd quid taken from your account for a few days then stick with it. This misprice will only work if your local has the same misprice instore (from where your order is picked).

For those ordering multiple copies and having their orders picked today, be prepared for a few hundred pounds being debited from your account. If you can afford not to have that amount of money for a few days then you'll be alright.

gamer333
25 Nov 15 #302
I just phoned them because I was due to get my games by delivery tomorrow, and Tesco use the price guide system which means they charge you what the item is priced at on the day not at the point of sale, this means I would have been charged £130 tomorrow for 3 games rather than the £38 I boughty them for today and I can't do that; so I cancelled.

Tesco said they have known about this glitch for a few hours and won't be honoring any of these prices. I think those of us picking the item up today before the item goes full price again will get it at the discounted price, and those of us ordering via delivery due to be charged tomorrow not today will be charged the full price tomorrow.

Any of you who have ordered multiple items due to be charged to you tomorrow I advise you to cancel today or lose all your money through being charged full price tomorrow.

Got this...

We wanted to let you know about a change to your online grocery order regarding your gaming product(s) . Unfortunately some gaming products were incorrectly listed with a pricing error on our website, and have been removed from your order. The affected products are below:

Call of Duty Black Ops 3 Xbox One
Halo V Xbox One
Uncharted Nathan Drake Collection PS4
Until Dawn PS4

You will not be charged for your gaming product(s), and if there are other items in your order, these will be delivered as normal. If your order also drops below the £40 minimum spend as a result of this, you will not be charged for this.

We understand you may be disappointed and would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Mines booked for collection between 4-6. Not heard a peep from them yet, beyond the original order email.

Nope u just go between those times the go through changes to ur order and u can accept or decline. Unlike direct the price u pay is the price the items scan at on the day they pick it...as all these games are priced £40+ instore that's the price that will come through. No one in store is able to over ride that much off the price! All website say in terms they don't have to honour wrong prices.

(As posted under Destiny thread) Just went to collect Destiny TKK, COD and Halo - all repriced so cancelled then and there.

Thankfully I was not making a specific journey. Also was told refund would be on tomorrow, assuming that is correct and they actually took the money then personally I am disgusted they would take the money before I collected, in particular when the price increased so much and I was not advised.

Maybe it was all deliberate to earn Tescos some interest overnight!!

Just collected mine from the Kettering store - ordered 4 copies of Halo @ £10 each - manager came out to me explained the'd been a Black Friday IT glitch - it was meant to be £9 off on Friday instead of £9 - he said he couldnt give me all 4 copies at £9.00 but they would honor me one due to it being a fault their end - they charged me £160.40p - and then he'd agreed to refund me the 3 others plus the difference - £151.40 refund - only charging me £9.00 - didnt have to moan or kick off guy was helpful!

So I went down this morning and went to the guy in the click and collect truck who sent me inside the store who then sent me back out to the truck who sent me back inside, no one seemed to be able to find my games :disappointed: Long story short it turns out that they had cancelled my order but failed to notify me, the nice lady behind the customer service counter gave me a £10 gift card for the inconvenience and because I hadn't shouted and pointed at her (her words )

After all that I walked over to the games section and saw both Arkham Knight and The Witcher for the £22 each I was originally going to pay but as I now had the £10 gift card I got them both for £34 instead of £44. There were a few games reduced to the prices that were on the grocery website yesterday before they were all pulled like GTA V and Mad Max so at least some of the prices were legit.

My 9-10am delivery was a no show..........

I was charged full price and informed that they'd be refunding me... refund hasn't come through as of yet but now I see the tweet saying they'd honour 1 at glitch price? Should I kick up a fuss in the store or call them? Or just wait for refund...

I went back to store after cancelling pick up yesterday on seeing receipt, got one halo 5 at £10.

My FIFA 16 was there for collection but they've tried to charge me £44 full price. I've had an argument with the store, who blatantly lied and said there was none in stock even though I'd seen it in the van for my collection, and they've refunded the £14 difference. They won't honour the others though.

I have just rang my back and they've taken the full amount (£252) from me. No wonder there wasn't a receipt provided.

I rang Tesco and had a bit of a moan then received an email offering me a £195 refund that I will have in 3-5 days.Quite happy with that!

Mine's a weird one. I ordered Unchartered with a bunch of groceries and since then they said the game had been cancelled but the food shopping will still be coming but they have charged me the full price for the shop I did online including the £14 for the game. I better keep my eyes open for my refund which hasn't happened yet. Whats weird is they did actually charge me £14 then not £44. I wonder whats going to turn up tonight.

Had my refund come through. Didn't even get the chance to cancel. Can't be arsed chasing a copy now.

Had an email from Tesco to do a survey too....LOLLL

Got emailed today with a £10 grocery voucher. Place orders weekly so very welcome

Yeah, me too. I was charged 2 quid though, despite sending me the email saying that they'd cancelled as requested (I didn't request). There was a good 24 hours before I had to pick up, so I'm sure they could have/did rebook the slot.

I'll give it a few days to see if it gets refunded.

I don't use the delivery service, but I suppose I could order some Christmas spirit.

I didn't have any cancellations to my order confirmation which states the amount to pay, date and time to collect. Went to collect and absolutely nothing there. Will have to keep an eye on the bank account in case they have charged me.
