Multiplayer don't get me started. Awful maps (legoland). Hardly any good modes from previous halo games such as infection, juggernaut, swords and gravity hammer, dual welding guns etc. You can't even start off with your own load out!

What? They now pander to babies with all of the hand holding and telling you you're special. Halo was always about skill now they've stripped so many layers of depth (remember crouch jumping for shortcuts around the map? remember when the guns were not largely 1 shot 1 kill? remember vehicles? remember map control and counting down power weapon re-spawns using the game timer? remember good map design?) out of the multiplayer it's not even recognisable as Halo!

You literally play 20% of the campaign as the Master Chief and the entire marketing campaign is bs.

This game is unrecognisable as Halo. I'd suggest skipping it or buying when it hits the bargain bins in the spring.

I'm surprised to read all these negative comments. I have played the multiplayer quite a bit and thus far, am really enjoying it. I find warzone is probably my favourite mode and its s really interesting take on big team battle. Each to their own but I'd say get it for 30 odd quid. Worth it

The visual fidelity ("GRAPHICS" in Chav language) is disappointingly substandard in parts, and that's a real shame - because the art design is absolutely stunning, and the game can be spectacular to look at when it comes together with the distinct Halo aesthetic.

Graphics? What graphics? It's not even 1080p and the whole Halo Anniversary has better graphics. Halo 5 is a joke and anyone who says the graphics are good know nothing about graphics, but even so... The game looks awful and the 'graphics' are crap

Get down off your soap box, preacher. Nobody asked for your sermon on the mount. Whilst I agree with some of your points, I disagree with plenty more. The game isn't anywhere near the tragic failure you portray it to be. In fact it's a solid release - and better by default than plenty of other big FPS shooters out there this autumn.

This statement was just sensational hyperbole I'm afraid. It's a flat-out lie and can be disregarded by any reasonable minded observer reading this thread. Read the Eurogamer review for more information and facts about how the REQ system works in the game. It's actually very well implemented.

Aaron Greenberg calls Halo 5 "SUPER INNOVATIVE" "JAW-DROPPING" "biggest entertainment releases of the year". So far I have not seen anything matching this. Last I heard COD Black Ops 3 was the biggest entertainment release of this year. However it might be Fallout 4 now.

Beta
First of all they release a beta to get feedback and test how things work. So why on earth is the aiming changed a lot since the beta? Literally it was useless having a beta in the first place. So this leads to aiming...
Aiming/Movement (mutliplayer)
I for one can see the aiming is awful straight away. I aimed at an enemy head and dropped 5x bullets using Battle Rifle and yet they did not even die. I get few bullets from an assault rifle (far way) I'm dead. Next enemy, my aiming lock was towards the left just off the enemy head and I dropped 2 bullets from a pistol and guess what? It magically somehow killed enemy. The aiming is weird and broken. There is moving issues when you turn to the right.
Campaign
Short and boring. Storyline is pathetic. You play more as Locke than Chief (at this rate should have just taken Chief out). Collecting Skulls or Intels doesn't unlock any sort of armor. Beating Campaign on Legendary mode doesn't even unlock anything other than the achievement/s. Solo Legendary mode is too easy (which I have completed). What happened to UNSC weapons? You only start off with UNSC weapons beginning of each mission after the bullets run out it's a dud weapon. AI is a disaster, when you give them instructions what to do they don't even listen half the time. The most funniest one I found is when I was down and needed reviving the AI was next to me (on my right) so I asked for assistance, the AI went all the way round and come to my left by that time I ran out of time. Remember advertisement for Halo 5. One is a traitor eg Chief or Locke. Nothing like this happens in the game apart for a little fisty cuff between Chief and Locke.
Multiplayer
Just awful, biggest disaster. It's basically Pay to Win with the REQ Packs. Warzone modes are pathetic, tried adding bots like Titanfall. It's annoying at times when your in the middle of a firefight between enemy spartans and stupid bots appear and kill you instead that is if they spawned next to you. There's less modes in terms of multiplayer. The multiplayer user interface is shambolic. Look at previous Halo games you could easily check peoples stats, ranks etc. All you get is stupid emblems scattered in one area of the screen. I for one couldn't find out how to mute someone. You always get one of those person that blasts some weird music or has an annoying mic interference noise. Multiplayer just feels like a stripped version of Halo 3/4/Reach. There is no Infection, Juggernaut, Rockets, Energy Sword & Gravity Hammer etc. No Dual Welding support (Spartans most be getting weaker over time).
Ban System
Won't even explain further about this. Setting needs to be implemented where own team mates can't do damage or kill each other. [SIMPLE] I accidentally ran 2-3 of my team mates who were on my squad with a ghost and I got kicked out of the match.
Dedicated Servers?
The amount of times I got kicked out of a match unexpectedly is beyond a joke. Nothing wrong with my internet connection. 64Mbps unlimited and no other devices have any problems with the internet. After the multiplayer match finishes it fails to bring up REQ Pack that I won or stats as it will say "LOADING". I've come across unexpected lags which caused problems. Is this the power of cloud computing that Microsoft were boosting about?
No Split-Screen, Sacrificed for Graphics + 60FPS
I have played campaign/multiplayer the graphics are OK and not "jaw-dropping". I have seen other games that have far way better graphics. It's not all about graphics but Halo 5 doesn't even have that "jaw-dropping" "super innovative" feel. What 343i should have done is just gave us 720p or 900p (whatever you want it call it) @ 30FPS with split screen. 343i made decision to drop split-screen and many people complained about this yet 343i ignored and released a final version of the game without split-screen. Game released to the mass public and many people are unhappy about split screen, Amazon reviews full of 1-2 stars review regarding split-screen. All of a sudden someone at 343i is upset regarding this and this now points to Halo 6 having split-screen? That's what you get for not listening in the first place.
Super Innovative
All I see is ideas copied from other games. Prometheon/Elite bots in warzone where idea was taken from Titanfall. The look, feel and movement especially dash of Prometheon Soldier idea was taken from Crysis 3 aka Ceph Stalker. So what is actually super innovative? REQ Packs...NO! Idea is taken from FIFA Ultimate Team. What about the game modes? NO! Basically Halo 5 is a stripped version of previous Halo titles. Nothing is super innovative apart for the graphics upscaling and down scaling depending on scenario. That's about it!



9/10 reviews? I wouldn't be surprised if they were paid by Microsoft. Microsoft are known for this. This happened with the launch of Xbox One. Over hyped and paid by Microsoft for people to talk about the console and give it good ratings LOL. The truth will come out soon which eventually does.

As a Halo fan who has played every single Halo game. I have to say since 343i took over the franchise. Halo is not what it was use to be. 343i don't listen to their fans. When it backfires on them then they implement the changes.


Wouldn't be surprised if YOU got Halo: MCC and said you had no problems with it and it's an awesome game. That game was broken from launch day LOL.

Some people on here don't understand what Halo was before compared to now, it doesn't have the same feeling.

This is interesting, I'm a big halo fan but the campaign on this new game isn't floating my boat. It's trying to be epic but comes across as a bit dull and overly serious. I'm only about 60% in so maybe it gets better. Visually it's incredible - to my eyes it usually looks better than Killzone on the PS4 but is a lot smoother. But the story isn't interesting.

Will see how the multiplayer goes but I can't imagine it holding up to the sheer awesomeness that is Titanfall.

Easily the worst story based Halo game... Graphics arent great either. Play it for multiplayer campaign is awful.

It's a well made game from a technical standpoint but it's not quite the return to form I hoped it would be. The campaign story is pretty dire, poor plot and too much reliance on extended knowledge of the universe. The multiplayer is pretty solid though, 60fps makes it really smooth, shame it's very feature-light compared to previous games (no forge or splitscreen wtf?). Also Warzone is an unbalanced grindfest, with more reliance on RNG and microtransactions than skill.

Game is alright, single player is incredibly short. And as with most FPS games, the multiplayer wears thin fast IMHO.
Get it and trade it in once you get bored. Simple! It's not worth keeping for a second play through. Rise of the Tomb Raider is much, much better!

Halo MP is amazing if you favour balanced gameplay.

Going to drop because it's crap, doesn't feel like Halo or look like Halo. It's garbage. I just say it's faulty, by law you're entitled to 30 days refund now on any product that's faulty.
