Good point but personally I'd rather buy them in store and get a receipt for the lifetime guarantee as this is a fail safe alternative to having them posted off the eBay link :wink:

I wouldn't go that far. As a previous post said, they're less useful for car duties but most woodworking screws are posidrive these days anyway. I like the hanging hole in them, for one.
I picked up mine today - yes, they are magnetized, however two of the tip sizes are the same in each style, so effectively you've only got 6 different tips not 8, albeit with different length shafts.

Stood at the 'parts' desk for 20 minutes while the assistant stirred paint (after being specifically told my tools were there for collect). Tapped my foot after 15 as in a polite "Help please". He looked at me, asked what I wanted, I replied "I have a click and collect order", he nodded and turned back to his paint...
I walked off another 5 mins later.

It did used to be all Professional tools as they were backed by the original manufacturer Sykes and Pickervant, but Halfords started to get arsey over the warranty saying you needed the original receipt.

The lifetime warrantee covers breakage or failure during normal use. Fair wear and tear isn't actually covered, as no tool can be used forever and not wear. However, a lot of it depends on the goodwill aspect of replacing a worn out item, and so a store person may replace it, but that isn't guaranteed.

The cross-head ones are Pozidriv, not Phillips. Generally that means they're good for woodwork screws, but not for machine screws usually found in automotive applications.
They're OK screwdrivers, certainly for the price. I'm gradually replacing all my screwdrivers with Wera, which are a lot more expensive than these but for some tools it's worth buying good stuff, and screwdrivers come into that category for me.

Never had any issue taking back professional tools to halfords. I took back a socket which had cracked after about 4 years of almost daily use (and was obviously well used), straight replacement, no receipt or questions asked :smiley:

I've taken to keeping a hard copy of receipt and also scanning a copy to keep on file incase of degradation/destruction, uploading to the cloud at your own peril of course. Technically the stores should take it.
