Been waiting to pick up on steam as I have the rest of the collection in my library. Cheapest since it was last on offer there for a steam key.
Potentially £23.78, see first comment.

You should make a separate deal (if there isn't already one). As the CDKeys one isn't for steam. Alot of people have been holding out for the steam version to reduce in price.

Nope, steam is for PC if you didn't/don't know already.

you still have to launch the game through the rockstar launcher. I thought steam would bypass all that crap

It still installs the annoying launcher, but the game updates via Steam which from what I hear is a million times more reliable than the Rockstar update system.
It is cheaper at cdkeys. However, that key is for Rockstar Social Club and not Steam. Some people like to have all of their games in Steam, where possible.

Should I buy it? Or... Will it get cheaper in the winter sale, only time will tell

Except that the Steam version launches the game through Social Club. Just a front end like Trials Gold. It is nice it keeps in in your library but is it worth the extra £5?

Yep but what it launches isn't the point. The fact that I have my whole gta collection in one is satisfying. Can you launch gta iv or sa from rockstar social? Extra 3 quid yes, extra 18 no. Hence the deal .

This is an amazing price for this game! I was just about to post this exact deal with using cdkeys steam wallet.

Good price for a game not often discounted. But be warned - picked this up the other day - GTA Online is buggy as hell and full of cheaters.

Can you back that up with facts? Because i play almost daily and i don;t know which bugs you're talking about. Might be a PC-Related issue you have to fix. As for hackers, there isn't as many as you lead people to think there is - and there is ways to avoid them, such as kicking/reporting them via the lobby menu. As for playing jobs "online" i have bumped into around 10 hackers in the 2000+games ive played.

I have had this game in my wishlist, the only game in my wishlist and have checked for the price every time I load Steam and today boom it's finally dropped! Think I will have to bite to have this in my Steam library! Cheers for the post/deal heat added!

Complete opposite experience for me, sadly. I would say 2 out of maybe 20 online sessions haven't had hackers in for me. Most annoying ones are no damage to them but they can damage you. I also had one that has basically ruined GTA Online for me unless I start fresh with a new character - the hacker gave everyone all weapons. Now I can't get rid of them. There is no way to permanently drop them. And I wanted to play it legitimately and earn my way to different weapons.
As for bugs - constant disconnects, all online players disconnecting, cars spawning upside down.
It genuinely took an hour this morning to get a game that either didn't have hackers in or didn't constantly disconnect.
Oh, it also takes FOREVER to load anything to do with Online.
I've tried initiating kicks but it doesn't seem to do anything. Do others have to vote to kick too?

Literally the first game I joined since replying to you.... Hacker spawns giant planes everywhere and ejects everyone from their cars.....
Then joined another to avoid that hacker. There was a challenge to go fastest speed. Hacker ejects everyone while driving.
Hacking is very prevalent in this game.

Seen one hacker in 91h 39m 16s playtime. Guess I'm lucky if that's the case.

I did read online it's getting worse. I've joined three different games since commenting before, all of which had hackers blowing people up all across the map at the same time.

I agree with the loading times. I really don't why they didn't setup a screen selection option, so instead of loading into open world when leaving a job, you load into a lobby where you select another game. I just dealt with that and hope by time GTA 6 comes out it will have a better multiplayer setup.
As for cars spawning upside down, never seen that myself. There is bugs here and there (that aren't permanent) but all are very minor ones that you should expect in such a game.
I have to say there was times hackers were rampant (in free roam), then it seems to have been fixed for a while for me. But then i started playing jobs (mostly racing) and i literally never bump into one for a long time, until i bumped into one speed hacker. But that was once, and he was kicked out. It's very rare that they come into jobs cheating.
So free roam will have the massive bulk of hackers (if there is going to be some) but on jobs it's much more rare to bump into one. And of course there is single player. If you want to avoid hackers play freeroam less often, of play free roam in arranged lobbies, play jobs, play with friends ect. I personally find it very easy to avoid hackers. I play with friends and random people so if a hacker does turn up we all simply kick him out.
As for kicking out a player, you should say in the lobby chat to vote to kick them out, most people don't know how to do it, so explaining how to do it might help.
So all in all, the game does have a few issues, but with the right mindset, and doing the right things to avoid these people you can have some great fun. What i do when i find a hacker in free roam and not with friends, i just find a new session and that normally fixes it.

Good advice all round! I discovered racing today. What a blast! And no hackers, although the clearly exist because of some of the leaderboard race times :-P .

I'm sure there was a deal, but yeah, I am in that crowd, I want the achievements and other 'goodies' that you get with the Steam version.

Just FYI you get the same achievements on social club as you do on steam. Social club tracks hours too. The differences are the hours are tracked to your steam account(which you may prefer), steam downloads the game (which you may prefer), and you can stream directly to the stream section on gta v steam forums. I don't think there is any more benefits, which is why i went with the none steam version as the added features of steam were very minor for me. At the time it was £40 steam or £20 none steam. No brainer for me.
