Fairly hot, but I would and have ordered the version 2 as will always use the £20 Play credit so it works out at £10.

Absolutely pointless to get this one, the new one comes with £20 of Google Play credit so it works out much cheaper

new chromecast works exactly the same as original just faster and more reliable.
Honestly no idea why you'd go for the gen 1 version - let alone a refurb. Wukai are selling them pretty regularly for £23-25 so it's only a £5-7 saving anyway. That's to say nothing of black Friday offerings.

With the new chromecast, can you stream from a nas drive and what type of files can it handle??
Interesting to see Black Friday offers on the new Chromecast 2.
MrMemory are taking the "purse" with the price of these reconditioned 3 month warranty devices :smirk:

I would go for a new one instead. The new one has much improved antennas so the connectivity is soo much better and is a tad faster and more responsive as well. I have Two old ones (like in this deal) and they are FINE but I got one new one few weeks ago and they do improve your overall experience quite a bit.

At this price just get the second generation, it's much better, faster and it supports dual band. I used to have constant streaming issues with the first gen and the quality wasn't as good either, gen 2 fixes it all and it's much faster at loading content.
Why spend £12 less than what you can get a brand new gen 2 for? It's idiotic, it's not like the new one is £130, it's only £30.
