I've already got my 360 Gears codes. You also get the 360 version of Gears 1 if you wanted to get shot of the disc and weren't bothered about playing the remastered version. I can confirm you do not need the Gears disc in the drive. They just work like any other downloadable game.

ODST is also a separate game but is still assigned to your copy of Halo: MCC, it's the same with the BC games included with Rare Replay, they can't be booted up on their own they have to be loaded through Rare replay. If I'm wrong that would be great, but I find it hard to beleive MS would not lock the games to Gears: Ultimate.

So in theory you could buy this play it once, trade it in and then get a code emailed for the backwards compatibility games? Seems win, win to me!

I have my copies from owning this game and they work as in a standard download, no discs required at all.

I very much doubt it. They will be digital copies just as though you'd bought them via xbox live. Otherwise it'd be rubbish and make this offer pointless "Here's some free games, and by the way you need to buy the disc to play them!"

Worth getting for the roll back on Gears 1-3 but this game is utter pants. Because of the over powered B button that people just love using!!!!!!!
