Leave one session and oh, theirs another script kiddie in the session I'm joining killing everyone on the server, exploding everyone's vehicles so you have to pay for the insurance and then people begging the script kiddie to spawn money...

Lol true its ruined by these sad 14 year old loners who have nothing better to do.

Apparently Rockstar can't really do anything about it because of how the multiplayer works. As it's a peer-mesh design, multiplayer isn't run on central servers, so hacks are easy to use. It's really ruined the game for me. That and the HORRENDOUS load times and disconnects in GTA Online. Game says I've spent 10 hours in GTA Online and I would say I fair estimate of time spent actually playing is close to 3 or 4.

FYI: I don't know what I am talking about in regards to the technicalities!

Forgot about the loading times and yes they are horrific.

Also the session issue is annoying, everyone leaves my session and I'm on my own.

I'll also be finishing a heist and I get kicked from the session (same for the other in the heist), and can't rejoin online after 4 attempts then I have to reboot ...

This game has so many issues yet they still release new content without actually fixing pre existing defects.

Yup. Incredibly annoying. Could probably refund under the new EU rules. It's also really annoying that if the heist drops, you have to wait for it to load GTA Online again instead of going to a new lobby, and then it will fail to connect to GTA Online, so it loads up single player. Wait wait wait wait wait wait wait...!!!!!

Ah yes the great GTA V wild good chase. I remember it well.

I think if you have friends to play with on PC in a private session it would be fun. But if you want to play online with randos, yeah, I would just avoid. Disconnects, loading times, hackers. It's not very good at all.

Yeah, that's my problem - I don't have a next gen console, I might get one eventually but I'm primarily a PC gamer so I've got plenty to play and I usually wait for console prices to come right down and then just get exlusive games for them, so I'd rather have it on PC at the moment because getting it on a console would cost around £300 rather than £20. I do have some friends that play it on console, but there's about an equal number on PS4 and Xbox One, so I wouldn't know which one to go for if I did buy one! So it looks like I'd be stuck with random people on the PC version, not that I mind making friends online, just that if the hacking is that bad it sounds more frustrating than it's worth! At least I'd have first person mode and the video editor to play with...
