Morrisons fresh whole salmon is half price again- £5.47kg - and they always have plenty of stock
The average price of a whole salmon is £12 - £18
My local Morrison's fishmongers are very helpful. They will always top and tail and cut a whole salmon into 6 - 8 double portions, seal in 6 - 8 individual bags and put in a large bag with the whole salmon price attached
Quote from Morrisons website:
"While you shop…
We’ll prepare any fish you choose, so whether you fancy a whole salmon or just a fillet, our expert fishmonger can help. We can supply your fish whole, filleted, steak, or as a butterfly or loin – take your pick."
The salmon that I purchased during the last Morrisons deal was excellent

£20 voucher being sent after a lot of debate, me raising my voice. them not getting the point, me having to send in my receipt and me explaining to them they wasted my money because the side that was filleted didn't have a lot of meat because it was still on the bone!

Morrisons are becoming a joke.
I have been buying a whole fish when it's these prices all year and they filleted it every time.
This time the man said he had been told he had to charge the fillet price which was £11 . 47 per kg, so I called customer service there and then, they called the manager and he came down to speak with me, he said they would fillet it. My 80 yo grandma has half, the fish guy simply cut off the head and tail and cut the fish in half leaving the bone in! How is that fillet? I'm going sending a complaint to customer service today.

I wish my local Morrison staff were that helpful, asked them to bone a whole salmon and fillet it and pack it into individual packs as mentioned in the title and was surprised when they plainly refused. Its Morrison, cardiff, newport road.
They should have already boned and filleted whole salmon in packs for this offer
They only have to cut it up and repack it according to your "portion" requirements,
Otherwise, there are plenty of already filleted packs on the fish counter - individually priced but calculated at £7kg
I only ask them to cut up and bag the whole fillet for me because I know that I can get 6 double portions for £14 to £16 (They weigh and price the whole filleted fish first - before portioning up)"

@ jimmybo you probably get lucky mate or I am the unlucky one. But I find it rather easier to change the store than to cause a scene at a store with the potential event of fishmonger spitting in my fish for life and serving me.

Unfortunately, my local Morrison's fishmongers are not that helpful. First they will pretend they are doing something very important like washing the sink and then when you ask them to cut it and put in the individual bags, they will give you a disgusted look and will tell you they cannot do it and they will give it to you in a tray and you can put it in freezer bags at home individually. Happened to me twice and this the Morrison's at Newport Road, Cardiff I am on about.

I've never had any problem in my local Newhaven Morrisons
Their fishmongers are always very helpful with their customer service - even beyond the call of customer service duty
Just ask to see the store manager
They can't refuse
Point out that the Morrisons "We'll prepare any fish you choose" customer satisfaction promise has NO EXCLUSIONS
Either Morrisons should re-phrase the wording of their "Prepare any fish" promise or withdraw it
In the current "store wars" climate perhaps the Morrisons Cardiff "fishmongers" would be better off furthering their careers in the shelf stacking area of the store

That's completely against Morrisons company policy
I would ask to speak to the store manager and if that fails, e-mail their Head Office with a complaint

No.....I think you'll find a pillock is the guy who was serving in Morrisons the last time there was an offer on.I asked him to fillet it,and he just looked at me with a blank expression, and said he didn't know how to.I left without the fish, and emailed Morrisons to make a complaint, stating that they "claim" to always fillet a fish for you.
Got a £10 voucher off them for my email....will use it this weekend, put it towards a fishy.

IMO you should only buy fish whole as by looking at the eyes and scales, it is the only way to tell if the fish is fresh or not.
You can never properly tell how fresh a piece of filleted fish is.

Bought one today, does everyone else leaves the head/central bone to shop? the checkout guy looked at me weird and asked me why am I taking that... facepalm.. you can cook that stuff as well, and make a delicious fishsoup from the head.
Also make sure you take the largest salmon there is- they are the fattest and most healthy ones.
At least until Sunday 1st November - perhaps 'till 8th November

I think the picture is a cod, anyway they are just advertising that they fillet the fish for you fresh and also salmon is usually pinkish or reddish not white.
