I bought a 500Gb Freecom 6 or 7 years ago. Used it for until it was superseded with something larger so it went in a box in the garage for a few years. Needed some storage to attach to my router, so dug it out, plugged it in & away it went.
Yeah, cool story, I know. Only mention it to provide some balance for any negative comments.

Ordered thanks, I have several external Freecom drives, some are now 6 - 8 years old and have never had an issue with any, (touch wood) I even have some that I have reused the drives from and they had Western Digital drives in. I have found them no better or worse than any other make drive, only cheaper????
Bought as an external drive for an xBOne for the young'un, so hopefully it will be just as good as the rest I have.
