Free freezer bag when you spend £10 on frozen food.
There was a big stand of these in my local (extra) no idea on when it finishes (not sure if it's online)
Not bad if you're spending over £10 anyway :)

If the law says they have to charge at least 5p for a bag - this is probably illegal. Why can't a shop say 'spend £1 and get a free bag', if they can do it for £10?

Perhaps they can give it free because of what they are giving it free for . The bag has a purpose - keeping food frozen.
Perhaps, shock horror Tesco is paying for the bag so it can give it to you free.

The charge only applies to bags under 70 microns.
Thick reusable bags can be given away.
Technically they could give away as many thick bags as they like, but they probably cost too much to hand them out like disposables.

well that's a turn up for the books I was in there two weeks ago and I couldn't even buy one as they didn't stock them, alright if your tesco does them

But they don't and neither do the other stores, so this is a hot deal.

No they don't, nobody has to do anything. sick of hearing people moaning about paying for a bag, it's something you have to pay for end of, I expect you think yr water should be free too. stuff costs money, that's life.
