Lovely elf plush from the card factory. Perfect for elf on the shelf. I'm not usually a fan of Christmas plushes but thought this little chap would be perfect for elf on the shelf. I bought this along with the elf door as featured in a previous thread. I'm just about to perform a little Elf surgery to make his limbs posable. I think I'm more excited than the kiddo.

I got these a couple a weeks ago... So much nicer than the real ' Elf on the Shelf'. I got the green and the red suited one.

An elf comes to visit for the advent period to keep an eye on the kids and report back to Santa. If they touch him he loses his magical properties. When the kids are asleep the Elf comes to life and gets up to all sorts of mischief much to their surprise and amazement in the morning. A few things I have planned are toilet paper on the tree, putting googly eyes on the food and hiding in the fridge, dinner with the barbies, painting a Rudolph nose on the kids in their sleep and being caught with a paint brush in hand in the morning. There's loads of ideas on Pinterest or just Google elf on shelf ideas. Some amazingly creative parents out there. You can also have your elf do kind things or go on strike if the kids act up. It's just as fun for the parents as the kids. I think it'll make lots of magical memories for them and maybe they'll do it with their own kids one day when they grow up.

They are selling similar ones in home bargains. I got one with the idea of doing "elf on the shelf". Which for anyone who hasn't heard of it, is about an elf that has been sent by Father Christmas to see if children are being good in the run up to Christmas. As I said, I a as going to do it until I read the Wikipedia site about it that went on about how it makes children think it's acceptable to be in a surveillance state. Nonsense I know and don't want to start a discussion over it. Just made me rethink and decide that the elf was just a nice Christmas decoration instead

Thats utter nonsense. Presumably by the same token Santa makes kids believe burglary is an acceptable career choice. I'm not adverse to a bit of a conspiracy and can be quite skeptical. Not sold on that one through!

Thankyou,I think I'll have a look for one, seems like a good idea, more so to get the kids to behave.
