Great phone at a great price & Focalprice are a decent Chinese seller.....BUT remember these are being shipped from China.....so you could get stung with VAT, Duty & handling charges

For info, this phone will work on all UK networks and it's a dual sim phone, so you can put your work and personal sim into it

I'm waiting for the Elephone M2 to come down near this price as it seems better spec.

I'd personally rather a Xiaomi Mi 4i/Mi 4c - love the 5" phones, but these two have 1080P screens.
edit: for the record, I've voted hot regardless.

I was looking at the Umi Hammer S for my next phone - can anyone tell me if this would be better than the hammer S?

The 6735 processor in this is 1Ghz not 1.5Ghz
The price of this phone seems expensive. There are plenty with near identical specs cheaper then this , this should be US$ 119 not US$ 139

This seems like the right price to be honest....unless I'm missing its party trick.

I'd be interested to know of a decent low to mid range handset which has reasonable specs and a very good camera. Mrs has just got rid of her Smart Ultra 6 - nice phone but abysmal camera.

Cameras are usually the thing that lets down budget cameras. I was pretty happy with my Motorola Moto G second gen camera and the gen 3 is apparently a step up from that(and is the optical unit from the nexus 6 without the stabilisation), but you might be better looking for a refurbished galaxy s4 if you must have a really great camera, as much as I hate Samsung phones. Just don't expect it to last long.

Cheers, I've told her to go for a Lumia (my 735 camera is streets ahead of the Smart Ultra 6) but she just isn't keen on WP's.

I have one of these and would not recommend. Looks and feels very cheap. Also battery drains very quickly.

There's no denying there's a much smaller choice of apps for windows phones. Maybe w10 will change that in due course but I keep finding there's no windows version of apps i recommend to people.

Well the fact it does not get reception on 4G band 20 ( 800Mhz)
It would definitely put off anyone on O2 ( as you will get no 4G reception as this is the only band O2 use)
The other networks also use this 4G frequency and so you would be limiting your 4G reception.
Whats the point of buying a 4G phone if you can't get 4G on it ? ? ?
Check the frequencies the phone can receive when buying any phone from China .

I agree, I'm surprised how many people seem happy to buy a 4G phone from a Chinese seller for it to not receive 4G on Voda or O2's networks.

not everyone wants a massive 5.5 inch phone. 5 is the perfect size for me
This is a newer more realistic (not engineer test model) review of the phone YouTube vid

I bought the p6000 from gearbest for the same money. An extra gig of ram and an octo core processor. it's a great phone and lasts about 12 hours of moderate use.

super price given the spec.
as others have already said, you may get stung with vat/duty when ordering from abroad.
I got one a couple of months ago. Rooted and with a new ROM it's magic!

Another one missing 4G band 20
So no 4G if you are on O2 , and less chance getting 4G on the other UK networks too..
Lenovo phones need the custom rom as their standard roms are full of Chinese bloatware . Its hard to recommend Lenovo phones due to this when so many other brands ship with vanilla android . Its a shame as Lenovo phones are generally good in the hardware area -its the software that lets them down ( as they are clearly targetted for Chinese markets only )

Lenovo is now targeting India and the Middle East; you will find that there are official international ROMs which don't have all the Chinese junk (still a problem with some of the custom ROMs as well).
Clearly, it takes a small amount of time (and a bit of reading) to make sure that you do things correctly. After that, there will be regular OTA updates. I have now done this with 2 x K3 Notes and a Vibe Shot (slightly more fiddly as a Snapdragon SoC). I'll probably be getting another Vibe Shot for my daughter as she is getting sick of the lack of apps for the Blackberry.
We had a couple of older Lenovo phones before this and were hoping that something went wrong to justify upgrading but they never did!
Same spec for £53, seems a more realistic price, admittedly not as nice looking.

Any company that sticks such a poor battery into it's phone deserves to be treated with suspicion.

There's 2 versions IIRC. Quad core with 2gb ram and Octacore (pro version) with 3 GB ram. Recently bought the octacore version (not yet received) with 3gb ram. Also has an LG IPS screen where the Quad doesn't i think.

Good point there although i cannot get 4G where i live so it doesn't bother me...
Why do a LOT/MOST of the Dual-SIM Smartphones 1 Micro SIM card and 1 Nano SIM Card Slots rather than/instead of just BOTH of them being Micro SIM Card Slots instead? .. all these Micro & Nano combinations are a proper pain in the rear!, seriously I mean, what for at all .....
Over complicates things like, the way I see it?, ahhhhhhhh well?, lol.

Bit of advice - do not activate the Privacy Protection Password in the Security settings. It's more trouble than it's worth! You could end up with a useless phone
