Buy from eBay uk for £105. Just bought one last two weeks. Phone beat iPhone hands down. My iPhone 5s is not for sale.

Bought one of these for around £115 a month ago, excellent 'phone, very fast, 4G on Vodafone is brilliant, and have a secondary sim from EE with an old ported number I wanted to keep. Unlike a lot of other dual-sim devices I looked at, there is a spare slot for a micro SD card as well. Fingerprint scanner works very well, so can't really fault it. As commented, if shipped from Far East you will get taxed on arrival (£21 for me), but on a cheap sim deal (for me, £5.50 VF unlimited mins, 2Gb data cashback deal), to have all this for around £200 for a year is a no brainer.

Is 4G pretty good on Vodafone with this phone? Just looking and Vodafone appear to use 800 and 2600 bands for 4G and this phone does appear to support both. Is any one able to confirm if possible please? Thanks in advance

I know you shouldn't have to but not to differcult,or save yourself the bother and pay double or triple for other phones by big makes and get there spamware etc.
No the Eragon rom has the FP working well say users
Spark
12 Nov 15#50
You shouldn't have to install a custom ROM just to prevent the phone from being infected by officially pushed malware.
Additionally, installing a custom ROM will disable the FP reader IIRC.

11 Nov 15#30
Don't do it. My girlfriend got this phone and the headphone port died after just a few weeks meaning that the phone then needed to be sent back to China for repairs.
I got the P7000 and an official update included malware which I could then only remove by wiping the phone and downgrading it using MTK tools. Just avoid this crap like the plague and go for something else instead.
SampleX to Spark
11 Nov 151#31
So what you're saying is that the manufacturer is spiking it's own customers with ROM's loaded with malware which the manufacturer is going to have to be obliged to fix?
And why would they do that?
morrig to Spark
12 Nov 15#49
Well not to difficult to put Nova launcher and disable stock and run a virus check ,but you have to be rooted.
Or better job put Eragon rom ,problem solved.

it was actually £500 i stated in my original comment. now if you want to be picky with the model of s6 heres another link for one selling at £589, showing how many are available and how many have sold:
and thats at a £90 premium to my statement that people are still paying £500 for a samsung s6.
the proof is there only an idiot can deny it! now the question is are you man enough to admit when you are wrong?

The stock rom on this phone is a piece of junk, really really bad. A big thanks to the custom rom which makes it a quite a good phone for the money. http : // forum.xda-developers.com/elephone-p8000/development/rom-06-9-eragon-1-0-android-5-1-t3195007
.note. The camera on this is still quite poor, but reasonable for the price. The fingerprint scanner is useless and doesn't work 99% of the time.

The Fingerprint scanner is fine, you just need to move your finger around while you are registering it, else you have to place your finger exactly how you did when registering it.

Are you using the fingerprint scanner correctly? You hold your finger still on the back of it rather than swiping. It works every time for me.

I bought one of these phones through an earlier (and I think cheaper) deal, it took a while to arrive but probably not any more than from other Chinese suppliers. I have been very pleased with the phone, as long as it lasts more than a few months I will have no complaints at all.

I am pleased with Gearbest. They have responded to all of my emails promtly.
Don't believe me? Google "p7000 Russian doll" and you will find multiple reports of it, I assure you.
They tried to stealth install adware into their own launcher on the August update but they chose the wrong adware provider and it becomes pretty obvious that the adware is there within a few days after installation.

I ordered mine on the 29th October from these guys. it arrived around 7pm.
to be honest, this was the first time I was using gearbest.
prefer banggood and geekbuying over them but thought i'd give these guys a try.
out the box it was on the latest one before the November 6 update. I got the OTA as soon as I switched on.
i bought it because i wanted a cheap and cheerful dual sim phone to work with giffgaff and freedompop.
things to note, freedompop app is a nightmare to use with dual sim LOL.
every call wants to go via their messaging app even though i want to make a call with giffgaff.
there is no apn in there fore giffgaff, so you have to add it manually.
for me 4g doesn't work at all on either provider. i have 4g with 3, but i don't think freedompop are allowed access to it.
i also have 4g in my area for o2, yet giffgaff didn't find any. i tried it with my Vodafone sim too and no luck on that either.
i only get 1 bar on my note 3, so i'm not fussed about 4g at the moment. i will try later.
Virgin TV anywhere app worked on it as did sky movies, sky sports and NOW TV. so i'm happy.
I've owned lots of devices over the years which had NFC, yet I've never found a use for it in my life. yep, people are different and might actually use tags when they enter their house to switch to wifi, when their in their office to go into silent or when they go inside their car etc you get the idea. but nfc isn't for me. apparently this does have the 800MHz band on 4g for O2 and voda. apparently it worked well before the latest 2 firmwares.
devices like this aren't for the faint hearted in my opinion as it usually will require flashing custom stuff at one point of another. but it's less than £100! what do you expect. people buy the moto g and still flash it. this is miles a head in terms of hardware for £.
