I bought the Absolute from Amazon France for £266 because I wanted the hepa filter...why they couldn't do the hepa in the UK on the Total I do not know as the fluffy head seems better than the hard floor head with the Absolute

Nonsense that they only offer a 2 year warranty on their cordless range, it shows they don't have a great deal of confidence in the longevity of their new products!!

Good price but I'm still amazed at how Dyson managed to rebadge the DC58/59 range as these with only very minor tweaks.

This is a good price.

The V6 range was launched earlier this year. However, it is just the DC59 (DC62 in Europe) rebranded with some different attachments.

I actually bought the DC58 as a Black Friday deal last year. I then bought the wand (long tube) and the brush head to effectively make it a DC59.

I'm really impressed with it. It lasts a realistic 20 mins on normal mode. I do not use the high power mode as not really needed. My full size vacuum cleaner gets used a lot less these days.

Dyson recommend that you use the supplied holder / charger. This means the unit is permanently on charge. Whilst this may bring convenience I would suggest only charging when the battery is depleted or at least near to it. Leaving it on charge permanently will see the battery damaged much quicker with run times shortening accordingly.

Replacement batteries are about £60.

John Lewis have the standard V6 model for £225 on price match for those that do not need the Fluffy attachment (this is used for hard floors only).

I am looking at the DC34 handheld. Is this worth the extra money? I just want a handheld. Not worried about it being a full replacement for my upright, just something for quick clean and the stairs.

We have one and never worth the asking price. Pretty useless considering the price. Test one before you buy. Good reduction on the rrp but only worth £50-100 imo

What's the difference between this and the Absolute? Just the included accessories?

They're also selling the DC53 Total Clean for £279 so ordered myself one of those. The V6 battery wouldn't last long enough my home, probably mean having to charge after every room I vacuum, plus I need something with a bit more suction with my carpets so the corded more powerful DC53 is perfect for me.

I bought the dc40 not all that long ago http:/****/1gf7lrg via this deal (£178.89) and it's a great just not ideal for dragging up the stairs when kids spill a pack of crisps or I want a quick clean in the bathroom. I'll happily still use it for my weekly clean just want something handier for small jobs and the stairs. Thanks for your advice though!

Just looking into one of these as a replacement for a full upright vacuum, We have a (smallish) 4 bed house.
There are so many different models of the V6 and surprisingly i cant find any comparisons between the models, the Absolute seems to be the best followed by the total and fluffy?
anybody know what the differences are and what would be best suited to vacuum replacement

This goes against what I have seen, from dysons website the total and absolute have the same head for carpets but the absolute has a better head for hard floors.. It's flat compared to the soft roller the total has for hard floors..

Great piece of kit can't recommend enough.Battery life is fine.Can do all my house and still plenty of charge left.Never managed to run it out of charge yet and for this price a steal.

Something to do with the brush getting between all the cracks

People seem to be confused about this model and what floor you use it on. Simply put, dyson has two attachments, one for carpet (absolute head) and one for hard floors (fluffy head). This model comes with both so you get the best of both worlds.

The brushed motorhead that comes with the absolute model can be used on hard floors but having owned this the fluffy head is much better.

Is the absolute dyson much better than this?

Ok folks deciding between this and the animal. Looks like after quidco the difference between the two is £40. Haven't been able to watch the video above at the moment and at the shops. Wondering if I should pay the extra, two rooms have hard floors in my house the rest is carpeted. Is it really that much better than the animal?
