£350 in most Uk places. £249.85 using Amazon's own exchange rate or appx £243 using a no fee card
With Dolby Atmos. DTSX.Wifi. Bluetooth.HDCP 2.2 & more I don't think you can get much better for under £250.

You are trolling right!? They have been about for over 100 years!
They tend to have a warmer sound than many other brands. Their sister brand (Marantz) tend to have a livelier sound. Sony's tend to sit more in the middle. I grew up listening to NAD audio equipment so the slightly smoother sounding Denon is more my thing.
Am quite tempted by the AVRX2200w as need 2 HDMI out (TV and projector) and the 4k upscaler would come in handy in the future. But then I would want new speakers, new cables and room redecorated so better not!

Will come with a euro plug on the lead. But it uses a standard 2 pin 'D' socket connector so just get a new cable (or you may have one already from existing amp or computer)

I would have thought it will be a 2 pin euro plug. You can get adapters like this for a few £ .

No. Just change the cable or buy an adapter as per previous posts.

We use essentially the same voltage as the continent even if its not actually the very same, so the current draw will be essentially no different either. So no transformer needed.

there are 2 types of setup. The ceiling speaker as you mention and the upward firing speaker setup, problem solved.

Thanks. Is this a good brand? Do they offer warranty in the UK or do we have to ship it back to Germany / China if things go wrong? On second thoughts it's probably wise to go for something fom Sony or Panasonic.

What about the dtsx does this require specific speakers? Any one know? From what I gather dtsx is far more flexible in terms of speaker arrangement etc. Only prob I can see is that no films are currently using dts over atmos.

We bought this for £185 from richer sounds a few weeks ago (ex display), it's a brilliant unit and sound is amazing even using our old surround sound systems speakers. Couldn't find it for under £400 at the time so this is a bargain for a great unit

That was a good deal even for ex display considering the Uk price is a lot higher.

That's what we thought, our old one had been dying for a while so been looking around, when that one came up we couldn't not buy it! Already had to buy a new subwoofer as it needs its own power supply and I know it won't be long before my husband wants to replace the old speakers too but it's so much better than what we had, the 4K upscalings made the picture a lot better too

Yes its the same. It just doesn't have an earth pin. Don't worry as it doesn't need one as its double insulated. If you look at the power info on the back it has a square inside another square. That's the symbol to show its double insulated. So the case can't be a shock hazard. The UK model may have this extra pin but if you open it up its probably not connected to anything.

You answered your own edited question then? It was in fact a good question and others may not realise that you can use 1 or 2 subs with this unit. The idea of 2 subs is to give smoother and better bass across a larger listening area.

Can see the sub woofer outs on this pic:
my (broken) panasonic has a two wire sub woofer connection as per every other speaker. This looks different.
Anyone know how I would connect my old sub woofer to this amp? Thanks.
beasty54 to rawhead

That'll be passive sub woofer so you shouldn't be hooking something like that up to a reciever. Get yourself an active subwoofer, you don't have to spend loads.

No problem, I wouldn't recommend using speakers from an older all in one system either if that's what your doing? If your on a budget i'd have to recommend looking at the Tannoy TFX 5.1 package, for 200 notes you cant go wrong.

can anyone recommend the best value 7.?.? atmos setup (speaker/sub package) ready to just add to this, I had a look at a 5.1.2 but it only actually had 2 atmos speakers (£270ish on one of the amazon's) thanks
rhinopaul to trending1950
22 Nov 15#51
If you already own a speaker system all you need are 2 atmos speakers hence the 5.1.(2)or 4 if you want to go the whole hog. They are simply Add-on modules, containing only the upward-firing elements, that you put on top of your current speakers or on a nearby surface.
If you dont already have a speaker setup then yes you can also buy integrated atmos speakers but your talking money in that case.

for those after more inputs and outputs this has 7 inputs and 2 outputs it's pioneer at £400

Well my delivery didn't turn up, despite it saying its out for delivery today. Amazon UK can't talk about the order, they said i need to speak with amazon.de and my German isn't the best, however managed to speak to amazon.de who said i must be a little more patient, even though its 8.15pm here. I've already had 2 missing parcels from Amazon this month, so i don't expect this to actually turn up now. Whenever it says its out for delivery but doesn't turn up that day then usually it never turns up.

You can chat in English to any Amazon.europe they have translators.
It also depends how this parcel is getting to the UK, if its Via France then there will be delays but there might also be delays within Europe now anyway. If you have a tracking number then go to the courier page and track it from there rather than using Amazons tracking system.

Seems I have been lucky then. Picked mine up from local PO last Thursday after Royal Mail tried to deliver Wed 25th!
German courier was DHL, who then used Royal Mail here in the UK. Was surprised to see that the amp was sent in its original Denon box.. ie. Not sent in usual Amazon box.
Yodel gets my vote for worst delivery company ever. A recent Amazon purchase was just chucked over my locked gate - no card put through the door! A day later I checked the tracking information which said it had been delivered. Hunted around and found a very wet Amazon parcel, which had been out in the rain for nearly 24 hours
