How are aliexpress for customs charges?

Could be the making or breaking of this deals. Which makes me wary of all those gearbest deals

Good deal OP. This should be over 1000 degrees, but it won't because the label on the phone is not "Nexus" or "Samsung" despite it probably being made in the same sweatshop as Nexus and Samsung. This is really how much high end smartphone cost. Voted HOT!!!

I've never been charged when ordering from aliexpress or gearbest

And if you are charged it will be from 5 to 20% of the price ON the package so they tend to put smaller prices so you get nearly no charge
Do you think this is worth the little extra as it comes from the EU warehouse so no risk of customs charges and quicker delivery?

Mediatek CPU so definitely not for me but hey it is a deal so voted hot :P
edit: Whoops got confused because they list LTE bands instead of frequencies.

Not to mention the CPU in the XIAOMI RedMi Note 2 absolutely destroys the one in this phone, 100% faster on average.

Was considering this but the websites selling iPhone 5c at $165, sounds a bit fishy

Feels like almost 10% of the website today is HotChinaDeals. It's funny because how often did hotukdeals used to reject UK companies over little things and yet they've embraced these dodgy Chinese outfits. You have to wonder how much commission they're paying.

Once GearBest, FocalPrice, Aliexpress & others learn how to be reputable online retailers with good customer service, these inexpensive Chinese products will be viable alternatives to Samsung, Apple et al. If it weren`t for the likes of Xiaomi , Meizu & Doogee (who?) , the next IPhone & Samsung flagship phones would cost upward of £1000 unlocked.

I haven't got much of a problem with Xiaomi selling their products in Europe but when Gearworst and Bangcrap are involved it just feels like a big scam. I mean do they pay VAT? Maybe you could argue that the lack of import tax is effectively tax evasion or avoidance? Reports on the internet seem to suggest they're not following EU consumer laws and treating some of their customers terribly.
Point is, I imagine if other companies operating in the EU did the same, they could offer their products at similar prices.

In the same way Amazon pay all their tax, or Apple and Google for that matter.

The average person using this phone would not find any problems with the speed, mind all those antutu geekbenchers and gamers would.

They would definitely notice the difference in GPS reception, all but the very latest chinese phones have bloody awful GPS reception.
The chipset on the Redmi note 2 (MTK Helio X10) is so good it was used in the HTC One M9+, the only MTK chipset to be used in flagship phone from a branded company as far as I know,

Wouldn't recommend buying phones from this site. They are not CE certified and quite often overheat and break within 6 weeks. I know from experience. It's like a lucky dip if you get a good or bad seller.
