Not suggesting this is an ideal solution but Tassimo t-discs can be recycled... terracycle.co.uk

Yes but soon they will make you pay 5p for the bag that holds the tea.

Good luck trying to recycle the pods, I gathered 4 months worth into the car as I was passing the nearest recycling place (15 miles away) only to find no such facility at the listed address.

There's more than Tassimo recycling on the site, biscuits do go well with coffee and those wrappers can be recycled for charitable donations too. Drop me a PM if you have any questions, we've been quite successful over the three years we've been collecting.

Nespresso pods are also recyclable. They send recycling bags free on request and you drop them off at any Collect+ collection point.

Didn't know about this. I've just forwarded to a school governor who is going to try and sign the school up as a collection point. Cheers!

Cold, I'm old school Nescafé without the added environmental issues of pods , but not a tree hugger !!

Agreed. Never knew about this but have found a drop off point not too far away that we will now use.

Senseo pods are the most environmentally friendly, simply like teabags, no plastic at all. Sadly because of that holders like this aren't good as you want to keep them in an airtight jar until use.

The Nespresso one has the same problem. I bought two and they both do it, so more likely to be a design issue…
Still, not bad for the money. Heat added.

We recycle, win for the environment and the charities we send money to from it (among other traditionally non-recyclables). Tassimo could advertise it better though.....

Initially Nespresso said that the machine warranty was invalid if you used another make of pod but after French legal action they have had to backtrack...

Do they sell the pods as well ?

Yes, not quite as good as nespresso but very drinkable and 1/2 the price...

Wow never knew about that, but I bet less than 0.001% are recycled

First they charge for carrier bags, now coffee doesn't come in a jar. Think I'll stick to tea.

Got a Dolce Gusto one last year, and I'm a little disappointed... The bars that hod the pods in place are just far enough apart that the slightest movement causes the pods to fall out... :disappointed: Might try getting another this year, just in case mine is just faulty...

Might have a look - my Dolce Gusto pods currently sit in a nice stainless steel wire style utensil holder!

Same. Got 2 sets last year. Much better than buying off the Dolce Gusto website where I think they charge £20 for pretty much the same thing. Heat.
