It was quite significant. Someone had obviously hit the back bumper while the car was parked and driven off without leaving a note. There was a break in the paint and a hole of about half a square centimetre. I had honestly never noticed it before because we hadn't done the damage. I was most concerned about getting the inside cleaned. There were no problems with the inside at all. Really annoying, but I guess it isn't Citroen's fault.

What type of damage was it, it can't have been obvious if you weren't aware of it. (Just trying to check mine before pickup later this week).
Devro
21 Nov 16 #336
Yes, very thorough.

There was one scratch I was aware of and I had been to see about getting it repaired. I had taken it to a backstreet body shop who quoted £170. I took it to Citroen who estimated £300. And the bill on giving it back was £120. So I wouldn't be too hasty to get things repaired before they come.

There was the tiniest of chips inside the door sill, I have no idea how he saw it, I could never have known it was there. He reckons it is the seat belt hitting it. But he got his measuring tool out, took a photo and told me that it was not chargeable.

As I said, they are very, very thorough, but decent. And not expensive.

wow, i have just taken 3 wheels off to be professionally revamped. no other marks on the car at all , i didnt realise they were so strict!! did they go over the whole car with a toothpick?
Devro
21 Nov 16 #334
Yes, they checked tyre tread depth.

I got hit for £437 worth of charges. He was able to point to some damage that I hadn't even been aware of. I can't say that I can disagree with the damage, and the costs don't seem unreasonable on a one-by-one basis, but getting the bill at once is a shock.

I have looked and looked and cant find a decent deal about , I succumbed and bought a 2013 exclusive from a mate who gets them straight from mobility before they go to acction...I actually like the car for the size for my 3 kids , and its not too big.I only do 5k miles a year and my new one has 19k on it , fsh and being delivered from Mercedes so it ought to me ok . good luck everyone , i am out the leasing game .

Surely they would just repair those rather than replace the entire screen. Repair is usually insurance excess free too.

Anyone had any problems with Manheim when returning the car?
Main is being picked up on 21st. I have two very small windscreen chips in the front of drivers view. About 1mm each 10mm apart. I have booked windscreen replacement through the insurance just in case, as I don't want to pay over £300 if they decide that is not good. On the BVRLA guide it says there shouldn't be any marks at all in the drivers view.

I was told by citroen and v4b it has to be serviced before it goes back but can be done at a local garage instead of dealer but use gen parts. The service light comes on at 12 months from when it was registered. For the sake of £75 for the service wasnt worth messing about with on the day.
inthedales
26 Oct 16 #324
If its under 12 months since you got the vehicle, the service book is up to date with no 12 month stamp. I confirmed this direct with Citroen contract motoring using the phone number from the end of contract letter. If you check the contract you signed you have to have services completed with 30 days of being due, hence I was told within 30 days and below the contracted mileage and there's no contract requirement for servicing. Not a case of getting away with it, just checking the contract requirements. If your concerned phone them and confirm (please post back with findings if you do  )

26 Oct 16 #311
Thats great news on the wheels because i have a scruffed wheel.
Tillboy
26 Oct 16 #310
Mines gone today, 3 x £65 for scuffed wheels was quoted 110 each locally so jobs a good 'un.

Wasn't even worried about the service book not being stamped even though it's been serviced as it's less than 10k miles!

Straight to auction apparently

i owned an Smax , they hold their prices well , i had mine for 5 years , but its a little too big ! also the spec on an smax is terrible compared to a picasso for the same price. .. you need to spend £12k on an smax to get the same gadgets as a £9k picasso, ill check out the merc.
Called Brian at V4B today as i called about them collecting my picasso and they wanted it 2 wees early , seems im not the only one its happening to . mine is going to auction in lutterworth apparently , think is i have not got £13k spare so i am looking at getting a 2013 picasso now for hopefully 9-10K.... but ...ANOTHER DEAL LIKE THIS would be great .
Devro
18 Oct 16 #305
S Max is often one I hear of which can accommodate three baby seats with ease, so that might be one to look for. The difficulty is that many cars which fit my brief, and yours, are ideal for the minicab market, so there is more demand and prices go up.

One which I was interested in is the Mercedes R Class. They don't keep their value well so a good second hand model can be picked up, and some of them have three rows of two seats so are six seaters. The down side is that the road tax is high and any repairs could be expensive, as are the tyres.
smilespiles
17 Oct 16 1 #304
your bang on the money there. I went to an auction last week to gauge the price.
I have 4 weeks to sort a car out or I am going to buy one. I may try a 2013 Picasso as I only want to spend about 9-10k.
anyone know of any other care out there that seat 3 in the back comfortably??
Devro
17 Oct 16 #303
Yeah, manheim do auctions. They are going to take the car back directly to their auction and pass on the money to Citroen.

Citroen UK knew last year how many cars they had to sell. They fell short of that number. They know that this will cost them big money in bonus from PSA.

The cars cost them, the importer, £14000 to get from PSA. They know they will get an average of £13k at auction if they are one year old and less than 10k miles.

So they end up with £13k, plus our £1500 lease fees, plus their bonus from PSA.

Unless they are in a similar predicament, which Skoda seem to be in at the moment, there will be no deals.

yep your right, but I got thinking ,I done 5k.. if I hired one for £2k a year over 5 years it'll cost me £10k and I'd have nothing to show for it. if I bought one (on auto trader now ) a 2013 model with 17k miles for £10.000.00 and did 5k a year after 5 yrs paying it off at roughly £145 per month on a loan of £8k and paying £2k up front it'll be worth £4-5k I reckon as the mileage would only be 42.000 miles. ok,id have to buy tyres and service it ......I wouldn't have ever dreamed I'd like the car so much...I will however keep Brian searching for a deal.
what do you reckon, you found this deal, work your magic again lol

5 Oct 16 #299
We done even less just done 4k in miles. I was told there taken to auction but no mention where and the likes of arnold clarke available car buy them at a fraction of the cost. The 2008 seems like it would fit. We have 18 month old twins and a 6 year old and was sure they would be ok. If u buy a picasso like ours its gonna be more than £140 a month?
smilespiles
5 Oct 16 #298
I would love to buy mine, only done 5k in it. where do you think they go? do you think the 2008 will fit 3 big kids in the back in comfort? I saw a nice one today, well get a nice one if Brian gets more like he says he will. I'm thinking of going auctions and picking a Picasso up if Brian doesn't come up trumps. I don't really want to be paying more than £140 a month.this deal was mental.

Apparently new lease prices coming in the beginning of October for most makes. Maybe then manufacturers reassess what stock of new reg plates needs to be moved because they pre registered too many and decides about the deals. Like it happened with Picasso. I think I'm going to wait.

Devro
25 Aug 16 #272
All up to that magical £4,617 figure. The 1+23 option is the one to go for as they are not sitting on a pile of your cash in the mean time.

There have been plenty of good deals on Kia Sportage, VW Passat, C4 Cactus. We need to hold our nerve.

I have spoken to Citroen about extending the lease on the current car, which they won't do, but if you apply for a lease on a different Citroen, Peugeot or DS, they will be prepared to extend the lease on the existing car until the new one arrives, so don't be rushed to make a deal with the end date of your current lease in mind if you think that a new PSA deal is on the cards.

Brian from v4b just called today,he offered me the flair c4picasso for £177 on a 3x23 deal 10000 miles.or the cactus for*£152. I told him I didn't need a top spec car or 10000 miles but 6 or 7 ,he said his deal would not last.....I said oh well, ill wait a bit nearer to the end of the year...he said he'll look again!!! he's playing the game.if he can do one for £120-£130 I'll be happy.

24 Aug 16 #269
i was called by v4b,i knew my wife's hire car needed a service so I asked if mine did and they said yes, only a small service every 12 months.mines due before I return it (Nov 29th).you can use any approved Citroen garage,it does NOT need to be an actual Citroen garage, luckily there is one a mile from me.thatll be far cheaper than a Citroen garage.you can always request the car to be picked up after your last payment (early) and then it won't need a service. (so v4b told me). I was also told the 12 month service if from the day you received the car...not as suggested above,so may be worth checking if unsure.

They will cut it any way you like, as long as the payments to Citroen come to £4,617 over two years. Add on their £360 fee, so it is £188.63 per month. With fee divided over 24 instead of 12, it is £40 per month more than last year.

I think that I do not have the Speed Adaptive Cruise Control, nor the automatic full beam headlights. Not the end of the world, but there definitely seem to be different specs amongst those of us who have taken up this deal.

Also, someone mentioned different mood lights on different cars. I have two little pinpricks of light beside the switches for the main cabin lights. Doesn't do much for the mood.

Anyway, it is still a fantastic car. I drove 375 miles in one day this week, with the wife and kids on board. We barely noticed it. The last car would have been an ordeal.

EDIT: I posted this in the wrong topic, should have been in the Cactus one!

I took delivery last week and absolutely love it.

Coming from an 08 Seat Ibiza, which was relatively good spec, this feels like a great upgrade. A really nice drive, already feeling the economical benefits getting c58mpg on almost 400 miles. The Cruise Control, once I got used to it, is much better than the one on my Ibiza. When I can maintain my speed I find myself adjusting it with the +/- buttons without touching the pedal. Super lazy!

A few tips for new Cactus owners are here: http://www.cactusforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=674

Most you will find in the manual, but some nice little 'tricks' in there just to make your life easier.

Also - while not officially available in the UK (only France it seems) you can download Link My Citroen.

iOs guide here - http://www.cactusforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=350
Android apk here - http://apk-dl.com/link-mycitro%C3%ABn/com.psa.citroen

It is a nice little app and syncs your trips, MPG, and more via bluetooth. A handly little tracker and you can even export your data by email (say for things like budgeting, buying your car insurance, etc).

Thanks again OP. While delivery took a little longer for me than I had hoped, there is no getting away that this is a superb deal.

I will get delivery of my vehicle on 14th of december.
Looking for some help while buying the vehicle.
On comparethemarket.com website it asks if I am the registered keeper of the vehicle, should I select No and provide the details of leasing company?
Also it asks for approximate market value of the car? Mine is white Exclusive (not exclusive plus). Comparethemarket automatically selects the value of the car as 16000 is that correct?
Thanks in advance to anyone who may be able to help

To be fair it's been a mix I have probably been lucky and the factory orders have come on time! Agree about the extensions though not had an awful lot of luck and in most cases have returned cars a little early to save having more than one. Could probably avoid the phone and pretend to be on holiday to get a couple of weeks grace. For me it's part of the fun

I guess you could extend your previous lease by asking the finance company. But from past experience of leasing a Merc, BMW, Audi, Renault, VW via Arval etc. it's not been possible. Only managed it with Ford and Skoda financing and that was for 6 months.
karlie88
2 Dec 15 #226
What if you leased the cheap Golf R lease deals from a year ago (£200/month)? Or the 208 gti for £160/month? These cars were promised with a delivery of a couple of months - cars were delivered 3-7 months later.

Presumably you've been ordering stock orders? The best offers tend to be on factory orders rather than stock cars.

More positivity from Karlie88 :stuck_out_tongue:

I've been leasing cars for about 18 years now and have never been without a car for longer than half a day, it's quite easy to delay things by a few days until things fall into place.

brian said you get a new car when the old one gets picked up. so if a deals available then its easy.if not I'll just buy a car its not as if I need a lease deal and that's the best position to be in.salesmen try it all the time, when he offered me this in white/red then blue....I said "forget it and thanks",two days later a grey one appeared (the colour I wanted)

Being car-less for a few weeks doesn't really bother me. I live in London so only really drive at the weekends. If we really needed to go somewhere, and didn't feel like public transport, I would just hire one.

Getting a brand new family car like this for £150/month will be difficult every year.

Also, timing the delivery of your next car will be difficult. You're likely to be car-less for a few weeks or will be paying to have 2 cars on your drive.

You'll see what I mean next year.

Be sure to get it up on HUKD as soon as you can. I guess Seanwinf was the first to get his motor so needs to get the new one first. There are some great deals at this time of the year. The Nissan Juke one caught my eye as well.

Getting a brand new car every twelve months, and paying £150 pm for the privelege, really appeals to me.

Looked and mine is the + and does not have the adaptive cruise so thinking mine is the newer model. Where does it say the build date?
alex_gregory_uk
27 Nov 15 #207
Mine is definitely an exclusive + and also has the adaptive cruise control. I'm guessing Citroen had some random C4 Picasso's sat around so have leased them all out. I know they dropped the adaptive cruise or more recent models but not sure what date it was. My cars build date was back in 2014 hence it has the adaptive cruise.

I got mine this morning in London. The delivery guy had driven it down from Coventry, and was going to Orpington to pick up a car and bring it back with him.

I had thought it would come on a truck, because of the 6 delivery miles as mentioned elsewhere, but there were 160 on it when he showed up. Also about an eighth of a tank of fuel in it.

From the little I have driven it, it is a great car. The electronic handbrake takes a bit of getting used to.

Hello,

I'm in Cambridge. They deliver the car one at a time. The delivery guy told me he had come from kent this morning. I asked him where he was heading to next. He said back to kent to pick up another car and then off to London this afternoon. Sorry he did not mention a colour. We had become a bit impatient waiting for the car, but the car looks really good, I think it's been worth the wait.

Interestingly my car has a build date of 11/12/14 and a registered date of 30/09/15 so obviously they are some old stock they have had sat around. Luckily for us the spec has changed and I believe we have the car with the best spec. In the newer models they have removed the adaptive cruise control and also reduced the number of mood lights inside the car. The engine in ours is a e-hdi 115BHP where as the new engine is a blue-hdi 120BHP. Ours is apparantly 22kg lighter, insurance group 18 where as the new one is 20. Strangely the 0-60 time for ours is 11.4 sec and the 120BHP is quoted as 12.2 sec. After all those geeky figures it would appear we are better off!!!
smilespiles
21 Nov 15 #180
so,does anyone reckon they will do a deal in a years time to keep us all on board ?I'm a bit scared that I'll get used to a new cheap car.!
Devro
21 Nov 15 #178
Apparently the Picasso we get is not the one on sale at present. The engine we get is Euro 5 and the new one is Euro 6. When these were the current model they were £280 per month on lease. They were pre registered in September and so we need to service them in September 16. The engine is 115bhp and the Euro 6 ones are 120bhp.

Do I know what Euro 6 means? No.

Is it worth saving £160 per month over? Hell, yes!

Sean, did you check out the current brochure? Is there any difference in spec?
Seanwinf to Devro

13 Nov 15 #158
Has anyone seen the lease documents to know what Citroen would want in the event of a write off?
Would it not be the retail value of the car (Which would be in excess of Citreon's actual loss presumably) .
karlie88 to nodecentusernamesleft
13 Nov 15 #160
Citroen would want the true value of the car on the day of the total loss/theft. They don't expect the list price of the car to be paid, otherwise they'd make a nice £7000 profit plus any monthly rentals you'd have paid during your lease term.

Just to clarify any confusion, you can buy this C4 for £17,800 on Broadspeed as a personal purchase (£6,500 saving off list price). So I'm sure Citroen/the finance company would have bought the cars for even less with a large bulk order - they do not expect the insurance company to pay list price in the event of a claim and the insurance company are no fools in paying out the list price. This is why a £10k Gap policy is not required.

Worst case scenario, car is a total loss the day before you hand it back with 9,999 miles on the clock. Insurance pays out £14k but Citroen want £16k, Gap pays out the £2k difference.
karlie88
13 Nov 15 #159
Thanks for the clarification.

Just don't see how a car that's actually cost £17k to buy by the finance company, (which is what they'd want if the car was stolen/written off on day 1), would need £10k Gap cover, especially on a 1 year lease. But as you say, your choice.

Enjoy your C4.

Its for the Exclusive+ model, 'on the road rrp' £24,445.00 . Looks like the metallic paints listed as a £520 rrp extra too.
So technically £24,965.
Seanwinf
13 Nov 15 #156
No its the exclusive+ car so £25k 1.6 115. Will have to look into this gap policy then ive got the wrong 1
Tillboy
13 Nov 15 1 #155
25,045 according to my paperwork and the Citroen website. Personally not taking any chances for the sake of £20'
karlie88
13 Nov 15 #154
Don't think the deal was for a £25k C4? Thought it was the 1.6 with 100ps with a list price of £19k? Or am I mistaken?

Either way, £5k Gap is more than enough on a 1 year lease for any £20k car. In fact, you could argue that Gap insurance is not required. You're merely insuring another insurance policy.
nodecentusernamesleft
13 Nov 15 #153
Esure has:
New car replacement
We will replace your car with a

DL exclude leased vehicles, they state first registered owner (not keeper) so they will only pay you the market value whatever that may be, so worse case scenario is 364 days later....buy GAP Insurance it is not expensive. Please also note that some of these online GAP companies use companies based in Gibraltar as the Insurer, be careful folks.
Hibbers1
13 Nov 15 #149
Good points for everyone me thinks.
Tillboy
13 Nov 15 #148
List price is Circa 25k and is likely what Citroen finance would want to be repaid
nodecentusernamesleft
13 Nov 15 #147
Do you need GAP insurance on a leased car? Does anyone have the wording from the lease yet, I know you need fully comp insurance so in the event of a total loss the current retail value of the car is paid. Does this not cover the liability you would have in respect of the lease car value in the first year?
Thanks in advance for any guidance on this.
karlie88
13 Nov 15 #146
Yep, ALA/Gap 123 have 10% off codes floating around on the net and 10% via TCB/Quidco too. £10k is too much cover for a car valued at £17k, especially for a 1 year lease. £5k is more than sufficient, although it only would have made a couple of quid difference when getting a quote.

Also, lots of people mistakenly think their insurance company covers for a replacement car within its 1st year, but that tends to be for registered owners, which of course you're not with a lot of lease agreements. Just a heads up for people...
Hibbers1
13 Nov 15 #145
I got a GAP cover quote for £54.75 - covered up to £10K which is plenty imho. It was based on a vehicle valued between £15-25K. Interesting, well to me anyway, was the fact that DL my Insurer will not give replacement cover on a new leased vehicle!
karlie88
13 Nov 15 #144

I was told yesterday morning there were 25 and 10 had already gone so by now I imagine they'll all be gone. Cracking deal for people who get it. Will update this when I hear back either way

i am also waiting for the credit check to clear ,thay say there have been loads of apps, all the black ones are gone [2] !
there is only blue grey white and 1 red left .! not exactly a massive stock is it !. we will see ,but i did say ,dont try to fob me off with a lower spec, [as they will try].
if its gone ,then its gone ,there will be more deals about ,but for a large family car such as this ,it was a cracking deal.

GAP insurance should not be of issue if only a 12 month lease as many Insurance Policies will replace with a brand new vehicle if under 12 months old and written off - However check your wording carefully!

What are the chances of getting a similarly priced lease in twelve months' time? Is it because the local distributor is trying to get its sales numbers up for the end of the year, and so this is a good time to renew a lease?

My key concern is being unable to find any decent deals in twelve months' time.
Seanwinf to Devro
29 Oct 15 #54
Devro we r in the same boat from the cactus deal its our first lease so im going on 12 months to make sure it works for us, im on this site alot and deals pop up all the time, after 10 months on this deal start looking for your next as per the cactus the delivery is around 5 weeks. Its luck of the draw there might be a deal after 12 months but not after 18 months and so on?

I recently bought a car, but I think I will sell it and go for this deal. This is much better than buying outright as this yearly payment is much less than depreciation. I feel silly buying a car when u can get deals like this

Servicing and insurance is not included.

Just make sure you keep the car in good condition and you'll be fine.

As said before you'd have to service any new car after 12 months. The first service on a citroen probably isn't going to be too bad, perhaps around £200.

Citroen states a 2013- 1.6 diesel car needs a service after 16000 miles or 1 year which ever is sooner
karlie88 to Seanwinf
28 Oct 15 1 #30
The trick here is to hand the car back a week or 2 earlier. You'll lose out on about £50 of your car rental for that month but will save £150-£200 on a service.

Rudess
28 Oct 15 #29
I don't know this site but there are similar sites who post ridiculously low prices for leased cars, then when you call them, they never have it in stock and they try to push you other cars. Be careful.
clawlor1
28 Oct 15 #27
It's just standard to need a service, to maintain the warranty on any new car you have to have it serviced every 12 months or 10k miles or some have something like variable service times?? But yeah standard on new cars.
Seanwinf
28 Oct 15 #25
Yes delivery is included. Its only the same as any new car, have to kept clean and tidy and serviced after all its going to be sold on after you have had its best from it.

so you have to get a 12 month car serviced on 10k miles ...and how much will they screw you for that ? seems a good deal ,but its getting more expensive,i have been thinking about this for ages but am not sure .is the terms and condition's on the site?
smilespiles

28 Oct 15 #18
Fantastic deal. Shame it's not 15k miles like the cactus deal but congratulations on getting such a good deal on your first lease. Citroen are almost certainly taking a bit of a loss on these for some reason.

Wow that is cheaper than some of the tiny C1 deals. Jealous as I was originally going for the exclusive model but was sold out. Much higher spec than the Cactus offer the C4 exclusive+ RRP is over £25000 compared to less than £17000 for the Cactus

Its my first lease car because of mileage but doing less now so hoping it works for me
g8spur
28 Oct 15 1 #9
Probably not when you are going over so excessively I guess. My car had clocked 100k now and I want a stop gap for a year so this is attractive but the mileage kills it for me sadly.

Shame the mileage is always so low. If i did 30k in this how much extra would it cost me?
Seanwinf to g8spur

If you click the link theres a quote me link which you can ask but i hear its sometimes cheaper to get the low mileage deal and just pay the excess mileage fee at the end. (Put the amount extra aside each month)
