Cities: Skylines is a modern take on the classic city simulation. The game introduces new game play elements to realize the thrill and hardships of creating and maintaining a real city whilst expanding on some well-established tropes of the city building experience.
From the makers of the Cities in Motion franchise, the game boasts a fully realized transport system. It also includes the ability to mod the game to suit your play style as a fine counter balance to the layered and challenging simulation. You’re only limited by your imagination, so take control and reach for the sky!
Main features:
Multi-tiered and challenging simulation: Constructing your city from the ground up is easy to learn, but hard to master. Playing as the mayor of your city you’ll be faced with balancing essential requirements such as education, water electricity, police, fire fighting, healthcare and much more along with your citys real economy system. Citizens within your city react fluidly, with gravitas and with an air of authenticity to a multitude of game play scenarios.
Extensive local traffic simulation: Colossal Orders extensive experience developing the Cities in Motion series is fully utilized in a fully fleshed out and well-crafted transport systems.
Districts and Policies: Be more than just an administrator from city hall. Designating parts of your city as a district results in the application of policies which results in you rising to the status of Mayor for your own city.
Extensive modding support: Build or improve on existing maps and structures. You can then import them into the game, share them as well as download the creations of other city builders on the Steam workshop.
Can anyone recommend a VPN? I only have my own which is in the UK. Also, isn't it risky to connect through someone else's VPN and carry out a financial transaction? You don't know if they're intercepting the connection and what they're storing?

Turn the VPN off when PayPal pops up. Premium VPN suppliers give free 6 hour trials. Or you could use a few of the Browser extension VPNs. TunnelBear/Zenmate

TunnelBear VPN extension for Chrome has worked for me with Nuuvem recently.

Sadly there are so many times when even a VPN doesn't seem enough when buying some games from Nuuvem these days. It might be the payment method causing the issue...?
Great game and spent so many hours playing it, most of them dealing with traffic issues.
The add-on for it is good but I do wish that you could temporarily disable to night and dark as it is most difficult to keep building and developing a city when it is night. It does look good though

Sometimes items on Nuuvem are region blocking on Paypal as well as Nuuvem. Not a lot you can do to circumvent the Paypal block sadly.

I think there is a mod for that.

Im wondering whether it'll be better to wait for the inevitable Humble Bundling or GOTY deals that will inevitably happen in due course. Especially if there are a few more expansions planned...

If it is the Time Warp mod I use that and it is invaliable....
it would be great if the night time cycle could be reduced to an hour or something whilst building.

Is it worth picking up the deluxe edition over the standard? Curious as too whether the extras make much of a difference.

I didn't buy the deluxe version for what it offers over the std, then again there was a greater difference in cost when I bought mine.
It offers very little over the std game, take a look and see.

I'm more curious if the buildings actually offer any benefits. While nice, a soundtrack and digital art book are both things I'll never look at and probably pasted all over the internet by this point

First good sim of its kind in a long long while. If you like steam achievements lay off the mods. If not, there's a lot of workshop content including helpful UI additions.
Deluxe doesn't include the DLC, not worth.

you can get a mod which re-enables the Steam achievements if using mods. It works great

I managed to get the base game with tunnelbear, but every time I try to buy the after dark expansion, it says it's not available in my country

Have you tried Argentina in the VPN? Brazil and that seem to have the highest success rates I've noticed. Also if its failing after you try to pay with paypal its paypal blocked, although its a bit weird if that is and the game isn't.

it goes through paypal and after completing there, it goes back to Nuuvem and it says the operation has been cancelled because it's not allowed in my country..I tried with Brazil, I'll try again later

That usually means its Paypal blocking it not Nuuvem, although like I said that's a bit odd seeing how the main game goes through okay
I've got the same issue of paypal blocking it (?) - the payment gets approved, nuuvem shows loading or something (second countdown) followed by a message of not available in your country... Any tips? cheers!

Chaps,
Just download 'Hola Unblocker' for Google Chrome. Set your location to Brazil. Purchase as normal. It works fine.

Just can't get it to work, tried for a few hours last night and the closest I got was 8 seconds left on their 'countdown' before it cancelled and said I couldn't get it in my country, been using the hola VPN but I think i'll have to wait for elsewhere to be cheap :/
