Would love to know the mark up on new games and what shops pay.
Because apart from a couple of games they ain't getting £30 back from resale of the traded in game.

Average price to buy games off a supplier, process them and dispatch to a store (or direct to a customer is around £30. Leaving around 20 - 25% profit however not many stores buys upfront they have credit agreements that eat into that profit. But pre-owned they make 30%+ profit. However when companies do deals like this is it to steal some market share and hope they get long term retention but to the detriment of the profit they can make from the prepared but it can be still cheaper than buying direct off the supplier and the credit agreement issue!

One thing can be tried.. Its mentioned on the list Metal gear solid V.. Now im sure they are on about Phantom pain which is the latest game but i wonder if you can trade the older game called Metal gear solid V ground zero as that can be bought for £10 and in total you will be paying £20 for BOP3... Bargain!!!

Yes, i did but that might be down to whoever accepts your game and is not aware if a manual should be in there. I did GTA without a map too

Just called the Oldbury store (Midlands) - they said Black Ops 3 offer finished but Fallout 4 still available until the end of today (12/11/15).. Apparently they said the offers only last for 6 days after the game is released

Sorry should have mentioned, the 6 day offer was for Black Ops 3, not sure if it applies to Fallout 4 but the Oldbury store confirmed Fallout 4 offer ends today.. not sure if it's the same case with all Smyths stores

Just traded GTAV for BLOPS3 on Xbone. I could see Fall Out 4 boxes on the shelf, they should remove them really if they're sold out.
P.s. The staff weren't exactly friendly, made me feel like I was bothering them. When I asked for trade in prices on other games they complained it would "take them ages to look up". I almost walked away but thought, no, do your job! :smiley:

Might be going off topic a bit but I also asked them if they would be trading in similar games against Star Wars and Tomb Raider and the reply was shrugged shoulders and "probably". Fantastic customer service! lol :smile: Anyway they're doing a midnight release for Star Wars if anyone's bothered? :P

couldn't agree more. Both people behind the counter hadn't a clue how to use the till correctly to input the trade in and one kept saying it's supposed to be trade 2 in for 1 game. I kept saying that's another offer but wasn't even acknowledged even though I repeated it 3 times. wasn't until one of them went and got the poster on the games stand he went ohh yeah it does say that.

How strange, I can only guess some read the poster as ends yesterdays date (as in store closing time) and yesterdays date as in its over once it is that date. Which wouldn't surprise me given the level of service at these stores.
