It's because of people like you that companies don't honour things, pure greed. Disgusting.

Well allmost given up hope with these idiots, just had this email from them

As you are aware, all these orders have been cancelled due to a pricing error on our system. This was something beyond our control. Also, I apologise for the wrong information received. For all online orders that have been cancelled we have sent a £10.00 voucher code only to each customer via email. However, on this occasion, I am happy to send a £25.00 Moneycard for you. If you are happy with my offer, please can you reply to this email to confirm if this is a suitable option for you? Also, I will need your full name and full address where to send the Moneycard.

Soooo. After a few complaints had an email back.

Said they will honour it by giving me £35 in vouchers. 4 codes sent in the email. Same number with A,B,C,D at the end.

Then 4 mins later a second email with just goodwill voucher codes. All totally different with a mix of numbers and letters. 3 £10 and 1 £5.

Reckon all 8 codes will work?

Can they all be spend any where on Tesco or solely on the grocery site? As the games got removed from there didn't they?

Still trying to get my copy of the game!
Was told I could have one, and to wait for an Email
No email came and i phoned up tesco today.
They told me NO over the phone and NO one got any copies for £9!

This is total rubbish I have seen proof people have had them!
Told them I had an email stating I would get one as a good will gesture.
Asking why I waited so long to call, and is this my 2nd phone call! Cheek!
After I had the message stating I could have one, tesco said to wait for an email. (That never came, hence my phone call today)
They wanted proof, so I emailed them a a screen grab of the direct message, I had from twitter. from the 25th.

This was over 5 hours ago now.
Just had this back "hi have you sent the email as per your discussion over the phone)"
FFS all this bs why can't they just give me a game for £9!

You can tell how good a company is by the way the deal with complaints!
Will be contacting watchdog tomorrow, if I don't hear back by the morning!

I basically just pushed on Facebook messenger until I actually managed to speak to someone with an ounce of common sense and actually read my question and not just copy and paste, ordered my copy for delivery (currently £35) confirmed they are then going to refund £26 to my account. Just keep pushing, at the end of the day they took money from my account that they shouldn't have so they new they were in the wrong.

I can't speak for others, but I kept pushing them on Twitter and finally this afternoon was advised that "We’re currently investigating and will email you with an update in 24 hours."

The email came a little while after that.

A £10 voucher still isn't the same as those with a £35 of vouchers or an honoured order, but I sense that the idea of it was to be a final offering and they'd not be pushed any further.

Here's the entire series of events for anyone in the same situation:

1. Placed order for 16 Call of Duty's, 10 Halo 5's and 4 Uncharted Collections as soon as the deal was live, for collection yesterday at 4pm
2. Waited until I saw the full price had been taken, then I phoned the store and cancelled it
3. Refund confirmation was received around 9pm yesterday stating 3-5 day to hit my bank
4. Came into work and saw the Tweets from Tesco honouring one copy
5. Called Tesco Customer Services and complained, they argued but I read out Tweets and stated that payment had already been taken
6. They initially refused because I had cancelled it myself rather than them doing so
7. I told them I only cancelled because the full price had been taken from my credit card and that I didn't want the games at that price - because I ordered on day one at the lower price I fell into their honour criteria on Twitter
8. They called back 30 mins later having called the Crewe store I was collecting from, confirming that the Duty Manager had honoured one copy at £9.
9. I went and collected the game for £9. They had a list of people who had ordered yesterday to honour. I took my game over to CEX and traded it in for £31.

I got my copy. I got a call about 30mins before the pick up time asking how much did i buy it for. Told them it was £9. They asked if i had proof that I was offer it at that price. They sent me an email with the £9 price plus £4 for click and collect. they said that was fine so went up and collected it.
The only reason they let me have it at that price was because i bought it at the time and only ordered one copy
Wootball to DaftDunk

I ordered 16 copies, and still got one of them honoured. How much you order has no bearing on the offer being honoured.

I bought mine about 2 mins after the deal went live. I ordered one copy of Halo 5, I received no cancellation from Tesco or any contact to tell me it was cancelled. I arrived to pick it up to be told it was 'an error' and I couldn't have it. I accepted this as that's the price you pay when you jump on an obvious error.

It seems to me though... that the bigger an ass you are about the situation, the more likely they are to cave... that's a dangerous message to send to your customers.

NB : I'm not suggesting that everyone that got a copy is an ass, but if you look on twitter enough you'll find people giving them a really hard time until they back down.

Well done to all that managed to get one. I had the fraud department for my credit card contact me yesterday due to tesco attempting to obtain three separate payments of around £150 within minutes of each other when I'd only placed one order and before anyone jumps in, I'd only ordered one of each plus extra copy of cod to bypass the £4 charge. Anyway this order was cancelled so not able to honour the price for one copy. I did however manage to get a £20 ecoupon but still gutted :disappointed:

However, I'm unsure why you were charged for the game but didn't receive this in your shop. I want to look into this matter further. I think what they are basically saying is if you picked it up yesterday and bought it at full price you are entitled to one copy at the lower price. I did the same as you when they tried charging me full price I declined. It just seems like some people are getting them even when they didn't pick them up yesterday and some people aren't. Very confusing at the moment and not really sure it's worth any more of my time for the sake of a 30 pounds saving

So I ordered this about 2 mins after it was posted. Was supposed to be delivered today. No guy turned up as was expected.
I didn't expect them to honour it as obviously they will lose a mega ton of money.
However I never received a phone call or email to say my order had been cancelled.
So I contacted them over the phone and explained that while I expected it to be cancelled it would of been nice to at least receive an email saying it had been.
Being polite on the phone and understanding to the poor guy he gave me a £10 voucher as a gesture of good will to spend on black Friday. Personally I am delighted with that. Be nice to them and they may be nice back to you.

You have absolutely no idea how I approached the staff in Tesco. I, in fact, apologized to the manager I spoke to over the phone who was clearly off shift.

Funnily enough I don't believe it said anything in the terms and conditions of my order that I would be liable for a factor five price bump if the price I agreed to pay turned out to be a mistake either. I believe I have the consumer right not be be excessively charged for an item that has had it's price listed incorrectly.

As for my point about not being informed of the error by Tesco, this is simply bad customer service.

I am here:

Because I am a hukd user that can comment freely with regards to any deal.
Because I ordered the game too.
Because I'm merely replying to your nonsensical comment of having 'consumer rights'.

Now tell me this, where in the Tesco terms and conditions (that you agreed to) does it say that they will let you know of any mistake before an order is picked? Where does it say they'll let you know if the price turns out to be higher than the guide price?

As to why some people are getting the deal honoured and you're not, I suspect that's because they approach the Tesco staff in a calm and polite way, where as you spout on about consumer rights.

For the record, I had my deal honoured, probably because I smiled and made a complimentary comment about them being bombarded with Xbox one game orders.

If a company I have made an order through has made an error like this then I expect to be made aware of the mistake before my arranged collection time (Tesco certainly had the time to do this), I certainly don't expect to be charged a price that is more than five times the price I agreed to pay and I very much expect an answer if other orders are being honored.

I went to collect mine and was told it would not be honored. I was even put on the phone to the store's click and collect manager who claimed their entire 'group' (which includes several stores in Yorkshire) had been told explicitly not to honor the deal. Apparently the listing was supposed to say '£9 off' rather than show the actual price of the item as being £9.

I argued that the deal should be honored as Tesco gave me no prior warning of this before my pickup slot and that my time had been wasted because of an error made by their online team. I argued with her for about five minutes but it was clear there was no way she was going to budge.

I have since emailed Tesco online to tell them that if they don't honor the deal I will be reporting them to Trading Standards and sending them an invoice for my time wasted through this enitre rigmarole, based on my salary and petrol costs.

It's a matter of principle now. Tesco should own their mistakes, they have wasted the time of their customers and shown no remorse (I didn't even get an apology wtf).

Just been over for mine. The delivery guy was nice. Said he was aware of an issue with the glitch and to ring customer services. Was charged full whack and no copies there to even take away. Went to the services desk and was told all stores nationwide were informed NOT to honor this and those who hadn't cancelled would be charged full whack, only to be automatically refunded within 2-3 days.

(As posted under Destiny thread) Just went to collect Destiny TKK, COD and Halo - all repriced so cancelled then and there.

Thankfully I was not making a specific journey. Also was told refund would be on tomorrow, assuming that is correct and they actually took the money then personally I am disgusted they would take the money before I collected, in particular when the price increased so much and I was not advised.

Maybe it was all deliberate to earn Tescos some interest overnight!!

We wanted to let you know about a change to your online grocery order regarding your gaming product(s) . Unfortunately some gaming products were incorrectly listed with a pricing error on our website, and have been removed from your order. The affected products are below:

You will not be charged for your gaming product(s), and if there are other items in your order, these will be delivered as normal. If your order also drops below the £40 minimum spend as a result of this, you will not be charged for this.

I just phoned them because I was due to get my games by delivery tomorrow, and Tesco use the price guide system which means they charge you what the item is priced at on the day not at the point of sale, this means I would have been charged £130 tomorrow for 3 games rather than the £38 I boughty them for today and I can't do that; so I cancelled.

Tesco said they have known about this glitch for a few hours and won't be honoring any of these prices. I think those of us picking the item up today before the item goes full price again could possibly get it at the discounted price, and those of us ordering via delivery due to be charged tomorrow not today will be charged the full price tomorrow.

Any of you who have ordered multiple items due to be charged to you tomorrow I advise you to cancel today or lose all your money through being charged full price tomorrow.

Activision isn't a charity, mate. They're not going to sell their games for under a tenner just because it's black friday when this game would still be a fantastic deal at £25+.
Same for Tesco.

Why are you the one complaining about a mistake made by Tesco, are you the CEO of Tesco. For all you know this may of not been a mistake and could of been apart of some kind of Black Friday crazy discount. Let's not forget when Tesco and other major companys used to sell new released games like Fifa for really cheap. If this wasn't a mistake it's the people like you who would of been the misfortunate ones. Them that ordered one or more copies had nothing to loose.

Not too sure what your problem is to be honest. As someone said earlier, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I can't recall any misprice being honoured in the last few years. It used to happen when sites like this were less popular. A company may honour a misprice as a goodwill gesture. Which equals good PR. Now sites like HUKD are massive. Thousands upon thousands order. People get greedy and order many copies which means the loss of money outweighs the possible good PR they'd get.

dobo
25 Nov 15 1 #297
Are you angry every time you walk out of a shop having purchased something, knowing they've been so callous to have turned a profit from you? The market dictates the price, so when price mistakes come through (and are honoured) it often pushes the average down anyway, and those who are buying the product from a flipper will probably get their item at a lower price.

The only time bulk-buying flippers have an impact on everyone else trying to get in on the deal is when it sells out (not the case here as the system isn't accurate for displaying stocked units), and also when the price is honoured.

I've never come across a deal where a retailer has said they were pulling their price mistake because someone ordered 10 units and spoilt it for everyone else who only ordered the one.

As I thought. Cancelled, not worth the hassle. I'm not driving a few miles into town just to find my order is way more expensive than the price online. Even in your orders it always states "Guide Price" not final price, so there's no way of knowing until you get to the counter.
