One of my favourite cities; but that isn't the way to do it! :disappointed: (though Ryanair are a paragon compared to the awful Wizzair with its cattle-shed boarding gate at Budapest).

agree, flying Wizzair from Budapest airport is an experience to say the least

Budapest is lovely, but freezing in January - better to spend more go for longer in the summer and do Balaton and Hortobagy too, experience all aspects of the country.

May should be decent. I love the place, used to work from our Budapest office but back in UK now.
I went in July this year and the women just take your breath away. unbelievable talent.

Ryanair uses the same cattle-shed @ BUD. Stay in the terminal until last call to save the hassle.. Wizzair has 20% off today for Club members which gives you lots of 20 quid return tickets, but hurry up - only until mindight and their booking system works CET time so will cut off at 11

Oh Gawd. Thxs for the warning. I'll stick to Norwegian or TAP ..... unless they err, do the same? (I tend to fly to BUD but then most times return from another country)

I went Budapest for a stag 2 weeks back. All i will say is it took me back to the dark ages. Racism at its worst.

Great place for a city break and little danger of being blown up thanks to Orban protecting his country and citizens. Incidentally, Budapest is named after Buda, the brother of Attila the Hun and the last King of the Huns, who terrorized Northern Europe kidnapping, raping, killing etc (i.e. the ISIS of Northern Europe) all of which which created a huge migrant crisis (Goths, Allens, Franks etc..) who's huge numbers overflowed the Empires borders. The costs of providing security bankrupted the economy, and destroyed Roman Civilization. 1000 years of dark ages and serfdom followed. Something to ponder on while your there might bes how history repeats itself...
