Ok, we all know BT Sport is overpriced normally (£24 p/m for HD is ridiculous), but £30 for 3 months of BT Sport in HD seems a good deal to watch the football over the xmas period. To put into context it is £9 per month via BT (in HD) if you have BT Infinity, so the price is reasonable in comparison. the voucher from Groupon is £9 so makes this about £12.99 a month on average, but there is no activation fee which is normally £30.
Key Points:
£9 for voucher then £9.99 per month for 3 months
New customers only
Only via Sky TV
Must redeem voucher by 26th November
No activation fee (usually £30)
30 day cancellation notice required
Rises to £19.99 for SD and £23.99 for HD per month after the 3 month period.

I think the letter came out in September because i got on the phone right away to complain as i don't watch BT Sport and it was a compulsory rise as it's available on the XL package so they credited my account by £15 to cover five months of increases as i was on a fixed contract with them for a year

It's an odd issue, maybe some firewall restrictions on your end? Can't fault the BT app tbh, I'd even argue it's better than Sky's and the quality has been perfect for me (even though I begrudge paying for BT sport, I must concede the app is good)
Yas
16 Nov 15#38
Yeah, it's weird all right. Solved the problem though by getting NowTV! BT Sport wanted £15/month (I didn't accept the reduced price because I'd be locked into a contract), so I buy the occasional day/week pass for Sky Sports. Works out a bit more expensive, but you get a better selection of games (and channels).
And it works!!
mcormack
16 Nov 15#39
Yes because they're downloaded first, unlike a live stream.
Yas
16 Nov 15#40
Thanks for the reply, but isn't NowTV / Sky Sports also a live stream? Also speedtested the connection and I'm getting the quoted BT Infinity download speeds. I reckon it must be a problem with the BT YouView box. Especially as nobody else seems to have the same problem!

17 Nov 151#60
You pay Groupon £9 for the voucher which will give the offer of 3 months.
BT will charge £9.99 for full package of BT Sport, AMC, App and everything else. This will be for 3 months from activation.
So £9.99 per month for BT, then divide the £9 Groupon voucher by 3, £3 per month.
£9.99 & £3 = £12.99 per month.
Great deal OP, mind 10% Quidco for Groupon too.
