I'm sure they know a remake would sell but it would probably hurt their new COD games sales as no one would need another COD game and just play the remakes. Hopefully they reconsider. Playing COD 4 again would be a dream.

5 Nov 151#66
The link to the Activision announcement relates to the US. They have taken a different approach for the UK and it seems, done an exclusive deal with Game.
maybe GAME can get away with saying "GAME exclusive until spring 2016" because they might be the only brick and mortar shop that sells it but amazon, digital and console versions also say it is included, activision shouldn't have said that it is included for all retail copies because i dont think it is
maybe free in 3 months for everyone? who knows
i got it for £39 had to pay £4 for delivery lool oh well i'm home on friday so i'll have it after 9am

4 Nov 15#59
They do different prints anyway- pre-order copies and regular copies. It's just all the pre-order copies are going to GAME only this time. Games have had retailer exclusives in the past so it's not that big a stretch.
Aeschylus
4 Nov 15#58
FFS now you have me doubting myself lol
The Tesco tweet I will gladly ignore as if it is in the case they would be none the wiser anyway, but that section on the report "GAME exclusive until spring 2016." has me concerned now
But then game would be emailing the codes as they wont be in the case, and that means Activision doing different print runs for launch in the UK, just not seeing that
sicmay
4 Nov 15#57
Yeah notice what it says - 'on' not 'for' those consoles- it is referring to digital purchases.
Also go on the GAME page and look further down- it says map exclusive at game.
I didn't say best in the franchise Modern Warfare is the best and as good as the last one was it's still a pale comparison, the multiplayer has gotten stale, close quarter fighting in Battlefield 3 was better than cod.
Aeschylus
4 Nov 15#55
na. I am 100% sure, it is just people need to look beyond the spiel, at no point to Game say Nuketown Map is exclusive, they say Nuketown Req Pack, also physical copies have allready been opened on the internet and Nuketown is a sleeve card in the case, no way in hell does Activision only do a print just for game...never happening
so if we take this evidence, Activision will come in for real **** on Friday if people dont get a Nuketown Map, also lets us remember Tescos cock up with the last time Nuketown was included, they sent everyone standard copies and put the ones that were pre-ordered on general sale

Or you know - that Activision support rep is wrong (which he/she is if you actually ask the retailers or check the GAme website)....guess we'll see on Friday and who really is 'uninformed'
Yup you are right - one the other deal sites has an article on the whole thing and the misinformation around it (not sure if I can link here)

Hi
Great to speak to you. I don't shop in game due to the over inflated prices etc. I pre ordered at Tesco for £ 35.00 having checked all other uk retailers to see who gave you the nuke town map. Seems it is game/digital only in the uk and gamestop in the US. Although I'm sure within a reasonably short period we will all be able to download it for free . You seem like an angry man and I'm sorry you have chosen to cast foolish aspersions at my expense. I can also assure you I never try and chat to 16 year olds ( I'm hoping you don't too ) I also feel that the tone of your reply's would be a little different face to face as opposed to sitting behind your keyboard with a sword and shield . I'm proud I plucked up the mighty courage that was needed to reply to a well informed intellectual like yourself. Have a great Christmas and I hope you enjoy black ops 3.
Kind Regards........

Tbh Activision are missing a trick here. There has been a very large gathering of people calling for a MW remake/HD upgrade. I actually think it would sell by the bucket load, bringing back those that had left the series and bring those in who never got to play the MW series. Imagine just all 3 together with all maps, I'd happily pay full whack and more for that. In fact, I'd happily pay that just for COD4 again. Activision, you're missing a trick...

Oh god yes. Not gonna happen though as everyone would stop buying the new CODs and just buy and play those remakes. 4 and MW2 rocked.

Managed to get mine from SimplyGames for £34.99 a few weeks back but I think this is the next best price I've seen so far.
Hopping it's better than AW which was probably the best CoD in a while but also the first in the series I traded in within a week.

That makes no sense. If it was the best in the franchise why would you sell it that fast?
RebTheRebel
4 Nov 151#35
The game has gone too futuristic and its just too quick now. Bring back the more tactical days of COD4, where getting from one end of the map actually felt like you had done some traveling, not super sprinted in seconds. If you do get the Nuketown map though, stick it on b eBay. I did with the 2025 one from BO2 and sold it for £16…amazingly.
