This uses 4.15 kWh per cycle electricity compared to the DHY7340W Heat Pump model which uses 1.68 kWh per cycle.

I was looking at this deal last week but, instead, went for the Heat Pump model at an end-cost of £335.

The dryer itself worked out at £165 more than the potential price of this deal.

With a 2.47 kWh per cycle savings in electricity, and electricity costing 14p per unit in my area, it'll take 477 cycles to pay back the difference.

In other words, if I use the dryer an average of twice a week, it'll be about a 4.5 year payback. Using it three times per week reduces the payback to 3 years.

This payback period isn't exactly short but at least I'll not feel overly guilty using the tumble dryer excessively given it's A++ energy rating.

Obviously, the heat pump model offers some additional features, some of which may never be used :smiley:

im going go purchase a tumble dryer as its so diffcult drying large items like bedding indoors, Beko is a brand I trust my washing machine lasted 10 years , indeset 4....I also had an electra brand tumble dryer 25 years.......dont think things are built to last but ideally need a better lifespan the 2 years

I have the 9kg version, we've had it just over a year. It's an excellent buy, energy efficient and dries the clothes extremely well. Would recommend.

Well my review of our two year old Beko dryer is as follows:

- great value
- dries clothes well
- sensor feature is handy
- Condenser needs rinsing regularly to remove the fluff
- clear the filter and empty the reservoir after each cycle
- much better than the indesit dryer we had previously
- water reservoir developed a small leak - new reservoir was provided by Beko under warranty

Ours packed in after less than 2 years. We were quoted £130 to repair! It was the sensor circuit that had gone and it wouldn't work without it. Replaced it with one with a timer dial and on on/off switch :smiley:

Sadly all the reviews of these things are posted 10 minutes after plugging the thing in so give no indication of durability.

I have a beko washing machine and its amazing. my previous indesit one was awful by comparison.

I would imagine this to be solid dryer and I am tempted to replace my zanussi dryer which keeps breaking down

Honestly spend a bit more on a more reliable model the trouble I've had with this! Firstly faulty parts deems the unit unsafe to use! 2 week wait for beko to send someone to fix it, the sensor is rubbish it needs atleast an extra 20-30 after its stopped and lastly the its stopped flushing the water into the water drawer so as soon as you hit start it stops! Barely 2 years old and I'm ready to sledge hammer the thing!

I got the 8kg model Jan 2014. Has worked perfect until last week when it kept tripping the electric and now something has blown in it. Lucky I put extended warranty from Curtis which is something I never normally do on anything. Bar that it's excellent

also comes with a drain hose so can be plumbed into waste or simply through a hole in the wall to soakaway outside to save having to empty the drawer. Ours dries far quicker when drained and the air in the kitchen doesn't get as humid / less condensation on Windows. I know it's not always possible but worth it if you can. Great dryer!

Brilliant dryer, And not expensive to run (was the best energy rating at the time for the size)

Sounds like a tiny detail but the light inside is helpful. Also the sensor switches itself off when it's done, saving electricity. Also has a time delay so u can set it to come on at say 5am so it warms up the kitchen in time for getting kids ready for school!

We have one of these and for a Condenser dryer this is very good for the price.

yeah but Which? would have you buying Samsung ones at £800!

I got the 9kg version 12mnths ago and I have to say the Beko have impressed me with their design and quality.... far better than the hotpoint it replaced

I got this Dryer and it's really good for the price. I was going to get a pricey Hotpoint to match my washing machine and decide on this beko based on Very reviews and really happy with it considering the price.
