i too got duped by the now gone ( trading standards closed them down) SDN. I treid to cancel within minutes of orderign buyt couldnt. they wouldnt tell me who their supplier was....well rather juist ignored my requests. They assured they were genuine. I was onto babyliss straight away and eventually when it came sent it off to them for free. They came back to me almost immediately confirm it was fake but couldn't tell me the tell take signs. It was seized and I had to claim through PAYPAL. it's not worth the risk. fake chargers go on fire so could these and insurance may not cover s they could argue you knew what you were getting if not a genuine seller.

Amazon aren't an offical retailer so personally I'd stay away.

Be sure to use a 13amp fuse - I've tested the C1100E (basically the same, not sure if it's the newer or older version) with 3amp, 5amp and 13amp fuses. With the EU to UK adapter plug and a 13amp fuse it should work fine :smiley:

Ordered the one at £1.45 from here, the cheaper ones all come from Hong Kong. Taking a bit of a chance that the plug will be a flat style one that fits it but here's hoping.

It's a German only model number so pretty sure they'll come with an EU plug. I've just ordered a UK converter that fits over it and screws to keep it there.

So are you saying it will have a uk 3 pin plug?!

Thanks OP bought the C1100E which actually worked out cheaper today. Looking online it seems that the C1100E is grey instead of purple and the curls alternate in different directions, where the C1050E curls go the same way.

Shipping is an extra 6 euros.....

c1050e seems to be european model.

They have in the past, well third party sellers on Amazon have.

Use common sense, Why would Amazon.de supply a UK plug? Also why are we even looking at approved UK suppliers when this is from Amazon.de?

Cant believe people on here are thinking that a company like Amazon would be selling counterfeit electrical goods.

I would never ever risk buying an electrical item off aliexpress, no matter how cheap it is! It could be dangerous, they have no safety tests or any standards

have to agree I've seen some horrendous footage of fakes. I got one from Social Discount Network who confirmed 100% genuine. Howeverthey werent a registered seller on babyliss site nad couldn't tell me supplier name. I noticed something missing from the box and contacted babyliss who confirmed it is fake. You need to be careful in he event of a fire your insurance may be invalidated.

Are these Counterfeit? There have been reports of counterfeit on Amazon. If any doubts send to BABYLISS who will check it for free. If seller isnt on Babyliss website its fake. I got fake one from Social discount network

do you know if ordered from amazon Germany do they ship from Germany or use a uk based amazon warehouse? this is a good deal, not likely to be fake as they are sold and shipped by amazon, shame just bought from argos but might have to take them back and get these :smiley:
