Not sure why people are saying 20% is stingy, it's not like the whole of B&Q is closing down, they could just send the stock back to warehouse or redistribute to other stores if they wanted. Selling off cheap probably to save the cost & effort of shipping everything back to warehouse.

That's cos half the stuff will get get transferred to a Screwfix store. Guess they noticed after a while just like PC World/Curry's/Dixons why have all three stores, normally in the same retail park when the majority of the public all know they are the same place/owners selling more or less the same stock. The amount of screwfix stores that popped up over here in N.Ireland outweigh the number of B&Q's they closing down. Seeing the same now with the Homebase stores having popup Argos stores inside them also, same group owns them all. But just as you said the amount of money these places all waste.

Not really true. You will obviously find some products that can be found cheaper elsewhere, but generally their prices are competitive.

Yeh, LOADS of clearance in my local, wondering if it might be thinking about closing like this branch. They got a bit greedy on my view ad it's come back to shoot them in the foot

Didn't they just. Closing down sale and they only offer 20% off, I've worked for this company thru a third party and the way they waste money is a joke. Totally out of touch with shoppers just like tesco. Too big. Too greedy. Out of touch.

99% of their stuff is still 20% more expensive even with that 20% discount compared to toolstation or even screwfix which has lately become expensive as well.

B&Q own Screwfix could be why! (Well Kingfisher both parent company) The guy who owned/started Screwfix sold out to Kingfisher group then started Toolstation. Edgits never put into the contract when buying Screwfix off him about starting another company in the same business!

Likely start at 20, clear as much as they can then do 30 and finally do 50. Something similar was done by JJB sports.
