Tesco have stated they are dropping it.
Not a rumour.
try Lenovo Yoga 8, battery life wont let you down. Current own a yoga 10HD, lasts about 1week with moderate usage for one charge. Previously own Nexus 7 2013 3G, good tablet but satisfy with moving to yoga.
I've got an iPad 2 but I want a Android Tablet I can put Kodi onto, and can this Tablet take a SIM card...Cheers guys

Very few tablets take a sim - 99.9% sure this isn't one of them

You can install Kodi by jail breaking your iPad first, ant I also believe it's now possible to sideload it without a jailbreak now. Check it out. Might save you £130 if that's all you want it for.

Before you splash 130 of your hard earned bones note that this has an Intel processor. Not all applications are supported. Intel, cold.

Which apps still don't work on Intel chipsets?

Thanks for this, but it's hard to tell much from specs alone.

Would probably be better to go with the Tesco Hudl 2 over this. Better screen 1920x1200 screen (although 8" instead of 10), and cheaper at £99
Use it daily and other than the fairly long boot up times (after encrypting the device), i have no problems with it at all. Good enough for internet browsing, fallout shelter and netflix / amazon prime (the speakers are surprisingly good).

There are rumours circulating that Tesco are dropping the Hudl range entirely.

Screen isn't great on this tablet, may or may not get the latest OS which is currently Marshmallow, it's using an Intel chipset which may or may not cause app issues. Also the screen difference is 10.1" versus 7"

Seems like poor value when compared to the tablets coming direct from China. The following tablet is Windows 10 only - but with some searching, I'm sure it's possible to find it in a dual booting variant (Android + Windows);
Windows 10 OS
9.7 inch 2048*1536 IPS capacitive touch screen
Intel Cherry Trail X5 Z8300 Quad Core 1.84GHz CPU
4GB DDR3 RAM and 64GB eMMC ROM, support T-FLASH card 128GB max
Front 2.0MP + Rear 2.0MP cameras
Support OTG/Bluetooth/HDMI/WiFi/WiDi functions
Windows 10 + Android 5.1 Dual OS
9.7 Inch IPS 2048*1536 IPS capacitive touch screen
14nm Intel Cherry Trail T4 Z8500 Quad Core up to 2.24GHz
2x64 LPDDR3-1600 4GB RAM + 64GB eMMC ROM
Support Bluetooth 4.0/WiFi/HDMI/WiDi functions
2.0MP Front + 5.0MP Rear dual cameras
Support TF Card extend up to 64GB max

yes but tablets from china are POOR quality and if you need to return them there is 20 plus quid postage non refundable obviously. i know because i am in process of returning overheating chuwii hi8 and this is the worst pain ever so don't start with cheap chineese rubbish if you cant return it easy

That wont mean much after you've bought it. Just very little chance of a marshmallow update, which is likely the case with all cheaper tablets. If updates are what you're after you should probably go for the nexus 7 and lose the option of removable storage. If they do drop support, it would be nice if Tesco could give free and easy access to the boot-loader.

I've no intention of buying one personally. I'm saving up for a Surface 3 - and will then just run an Android emulator on the very few occasions that I need to use Android apps.
Thanks for the heads up though. I did also notice on the reviews page for those Chinese tablets that despite being 5* reviews, there are loads of problems with them. It doesn't seem like people can post reviews with anything less than 5*'s

I'm surprise and disappointed as my 5 year old ASUS netbook has one.
I'd have bought it if it had one. :disappointed:

Recent headlines reporting "a dramatic drop in tablet sales" is probably a reflection of a saturated market and the longivity of the ones we already own. There should be lots more bargains out there particularly after xmas. I have windows and android tablets in 7," 8", 8.9"and 10.1" sizes and would say they are all pretty good at what they do. Wouldnt worry about Intel based ones not playing some apps. You wont notice it. The 8" and 8.9" models are a far better size for general use.

exactly. unless you want it for gaming there's very little point

The key omission for me is they don't support the official Microsoft free Office Mobile apps, although to be fair there are alternatives.

They are. Hudl2 developed a fault - and Tech line repair person told me (confidentially!!) that Tesco are offering refund instead of repair now as discontinued, with no future releases.

I can say that for me that is the best option - I have an i3 Surface Pro 3 and run DUOS for Perfect Viewer which is THE best app for cbr/cbz (and dare I say it even pdf files). And it's only on Android (for now, let's hope the author ports it to Windows Apps eventually).
Causes the old SP3 to run a bit hot, fan comes on sometimes and battery is depleted quicker but only to be expected, I haven't found a better Android emulator though, unless anyone knows better?

anyone buy this? I have a 30 pound voucher in littlewoods which make this just 109, bargain? would a 128gb ad card work on it? I know it says just 64 but that's often wrong.
Aye Chris and you're wrong again.
Isn't £129.99 - £30 more like £100?
No pedants please.
We all know it's really £99.99 :stuck_out_tongue:

ya what? it's 139 on littlewoods minus the 30 voucher I have so it would be 109... I don't have a currys voucher!
you think it's worth it? read it's a bit slow on some reviews

Ah, sorry.
My mistake but only due to lack of info.
All I know is, my ASUS netbook is still working great, after almost 6 years.
got this yesterday, I reckon it's really good! looks brilliant! slightly slow switching from apps but that's cos I'm used to the HTC one m8 speeds. screen looks great to me also.
anyone interested it has taken my 128gb fine! Just need to find the keyboard in stock now
