I did a search on the website to see what they were selling the black for and was shocked to see that this was cheaper at £499.00
I then searched again and found it in white (different weblink) for £499 too.
These are instore or home delivery.
Dont forget top cash back or the O2 priority app (£20 discount on purchases £300 or more)
Oh - these are not £499.97 stated in the original post. - £499.00 but at least its 97p cheaper.
You can also get £100 back in trade-up. (Do not use the O2 discount if using this because the O2 discount brings it down to £479, but you only get £50 tradeup for items less than £499)
You could also ask John Lewis to price match and enjoy a longer warranty

How's the processor in this laptop? Heard mixed reviews about multitasking, basic gaming ability (really wouldn't expect 3D graphics at 60fps!) and so on. Interested in your thoughts about how it manages in the real world.

Called in on my way home from work and can confirm they need you to find one in stock locally. Thought it was fine anyway I'll just return it and buy online from PC world but now I cant find stock anywhere :'(

Just realised it's not a touch screen which is a bit poor. That should really standard feature in my humble opinion

I disagree, this is still a laptop and a windows one at that. Touch screen adds to the weight and bulk and uses battery. This is a laptop that is going for being a compact one rather than versatile (in terms of using it as a tablet etc...)

They will want you to find one in stock locally - if you can, then reserve it online and use this as proof

If you purchased last week from John Lewis then you still have time to do the £100 trade up
I bought the 303 model with an i5, 940m gpu and 256GB SSD for 650. Definitely better than this and the battery lasts more than 7 hours. The only problem is that you cant find it easily in UK so I bought it from a Czech store online (no import duty)

They should almost certainly do it, if they don't find some God Forsaken reason why it is excluded, they always do that to me. But this is a pretty straightforward case as you can still easily return it and buy this one. (I think officially they price match 30 days in the past, depending on whether you made an online or in-store purchase).
Anyway it takes you 5 minutes to fill it out and you could get 150£ back, well worth the effort. You can also reserve one of these in-store just in case in Currys, they should hold it for a day or to, until you get JL answer.
Yeah that one is probably a better buy if you don't require something as ultra lightweight as this one

There was none in stock anywhere near me when I check this morning. However, I just checked now and it should be back instock now at £499.00, available in black too. Only difference is that it says W10 is now pre-installed rather than free upgrade.

Great price, looks like the UX305 yes? I got one when on holiday in American and it's been perfect. Comes with a 256GB SSD there but everything else is the same. Definitely recommend this laptop
