Windows 10 runs extremely well on 2gb ram, you obviously haven't tried it.
The linx 7" and 8" only have 1gb ram and most people are surprised at how good they run.

This is the cheapest 64GB version I could find on the internet, everywhere else seems to be £279.99 plus it comes with a 2 year guarantee.

I'd recommend a minimum of 4gb ram on a windows machine, especially if installing a 64 bit operating system which uses up more memory for each byte stored.

The linx 7" and 8" only have 1gb ram and most people are surprised at how good they run.

I'd second this, 2GB is OK if you only do one or two things at once, e.g. web and word processing, but as soon as you have a lot of tabs open or a second memory hungry program it will begin to stall.
Of course you won't be able to get more than 2GB without going to a core-i based machine which is a lot more expensive.

with windows 10 it does not much. I installed office, and some apps so I do not remember how much was initial as I have 128gb. Not much to worry about the storage...
I wish they did charge from USB C rather than micro usb which will make it faster to charge.
Only downside is AZERTY keyboard but I do not look while writing therefore does not matter.
But definitely you will need 4gb ram if you want multitasking easily. I can run autocad LT on it with any issue. So I am happy with performance..

I had the 32gb version of the HA, but ended up getting rid of it after 3 (slow, inept) repairs in 2 months and a few other niggles.
It arrived with a faulty connection to the dock, so the keyboard kept disconnecting. Apparently this needed the whole motherboard replacing...
When it came back from the technicians, they'd broken the internal 8gb backup drive (the 64gb version doesn't have this, so you don't have to worry about that here, apparently the techs do this a lot of the 32gb ones, and all the refurb ones have them missing), so I sent it back again asking for it to be fixed back to factory hardware settings, which they didn't do.
Finally, a couple of weeks back, the WIFI card broke, and when I got it back (with another motherboard) they said they wouldn't service it again if it came in with windows 10 on it, because it's not covered by their warranty. Asus themselves say that's wrong, but the techs they employ seem pretty not great...
Add to that that they charge really slowly (if you're using it with the stock charger, you can run it down faster than it charges...), and you'd probably be better off with a Linx 10" with the free keyboard deal they're doing or something like that.

I would be weary of the warranty issues and faulty returns to France plus only a 12 month warranty.
Also you do know the French keyboard has a different key layout (AZERTY) and is not what you'll be used to.

For a windows tablet the spec is quite good considering it has the new Cherry trail processor and most other tablets are still plodding along on the old Atom 3775.
The keyboard is also not Bluetooth it attaches very firmly with the magnet links and the key data is transferred through the connection.

I've got the original Asus Transformer TA100. Windows 10 runs fine and most apps are OK. It's fast enough and the lack of storage doesn't bother me too much as you can bung an SD card in the side as an extra drive. The issue is Gmail opened in Chrome will chunk through 500MB RAM on its own. Open a few tabs and use a few plugins and you start getting memory warnings and it slows to a crawl. I know it's not specifically the PC's fault and other browsers (and websites) are leaner, but the RAM issue is the main reason I'm replacing it.

You can get the better 4GB ram version from Amazon.com (USA) site including postage and VAT / Import fees for £238.11 however I would have a read of the reviews on there as by all accounts this new version is not a worthy successor to the old faithful T100TA

Is the 4GB version sold in the UK? I'm slightly tempted (niece's Xmas) - I did see a few comments saying that the Cherry Trails (thinking specifically of the Telcast X98 Pro) have a tendency to overheat?

Nope - not seen the 4GB in the UK but buying from Amazon.com for less than the inferior UK spec'd one would be my choice as that way you get a very similar US layout keyboard too.
but it states "Currently, item can be shipped only within the U.S. and to APO/FPO addresses. For APO/FPO shipments, please check with the manufacturer regarding warranty and support issues." Wondering about charging the tablet, though I would imagine these chargers are pretty generic.

Several reports on transformerforums.com re: ghost touches & dodgy build quality on the t100ha. The basic T100 "with Bing" is £149.99 today from Amazon
Comes in Tin Grey, Silk White, Aqua Blue and Rouge Pink (from the ASUS UK website) - 64-bit Windows 10, according to the forums I've read.
Think I need to step away from the PC - sleep-deprived and my second edit says it has 32GB eMMC! I would spring for this from amazon.fr but too many doubts about quality control issues at this point.
