I can't say I've monitored it all that much but I'd say 4-5 hours is a rough estimate, I usually get a good amount of use from it before having to plug it in

I have the i7 version of this, over a year old and still runs fantastic, amazing battery life and feels very well made.

Thanks for the advice ref buying for a 13 year old, thinking it will be a good option. Def much cheaper than a MacBook which I'm not prepared to spend that sort of money on for her age it would be ludicrous!

Asus certainly were good and Acer a bit carp but I too now think it's the other way round.

I know the difference between Apple, Asus and Acer and I regard Acer as much better choice than Asus on similar price point. I don't like Apple, as replacement parts cost you more than getting better specs laptop after sometime.

I don't trust Asus build quality, touchpad button issues, power connector issues etc.

You may have brands mixed up, this is Asus (not Acer). Asus is top quality, same quality as Apple for the same priced products.

How would this be for a young teenager for Internet browsing, homework, a few games etc. Problem is my daughter had been on our Mac desktop and now says she wants to save up for a mac book air but we've said that is a lot of money and will take her lots of years!

How does this compare to the zenbook deals? I realise that is a more expensive fan less machine but is this any slower?
Also, if hooked up to and external display would it achieve 1080. Very tempted with this one.

I think this has a better processor but does have a lack of an SSD so dependent on the task it could be slower
