Have built 3 desktops without any issues with these motherboards coupled with Intel G3528 cpus (Passmark 4001) for cheap mid-performance desktops, seem to be a fair few still available across the country

Hi,
I would like to build a Linux box & I have 2 x Dell Monitors (1080p) ... What graphics card do I need to drive those 2 monitors? It's not for gaming.
I'm going to buy the G3258 as stated above.
Cheers.

The board has VGA, DVI-D, and HDMI outputs, and the G3258 has integrated GPU, so you don't need a graphic card for basic use.
There that's an even better bargain :innocent:

Good find! I am picking one up today to start my first ever build, planning to pair it up with an R9 380 posted some time ago and an i3, can't wait! Voted hot of course.

i went for the MSI h81 as it has optical audio out, one of the very few budget h81's that do. still supports g3258 + overclocking out of the box, plus is mini-itx so absolutely tiny. think i got mine for little over £40.
this is a great deal with a cheap 3258, you could build a lowish power media server/browser for little over £100 (re-using storage, case & PSU) or a gaming pc for <£200 (ditto, cheap 750ti off ebay) as i did and it handles console ports perfectly.

Will this be ok for a GTX 750ti or similar.

Yes, it has a standard PCI-E x16 slot so any graphics card will work.

I have built a couple of systems with these boards and G3258. Easy overclock and stable. Good value at this price.

I wouldn't go for this, might as well just go for a mini itx motherboard, an Intel NUC or better yet, an Android box for kodi. why do you want to build a whole pc?

Mini ITX is (confusingly) smaller than Micro-ATX and is better for building Living room PCs.
If you don't plan to game and don't need a massive amount of CPU power, you're probably better off buying a pre-built nettop. Depending on the size of HDD and the processing power, you're looking at £100-250 for a net top.

I have had this board for over a year and it has been great, highly recommend it. One of the reasons I choose it was due to front USB3 headers which at the time other Micro ATX boards didn't have.

I have had this board 4 or 5 years with a i5 2500 and its served me well. Only issue I've had is the ethernet port not working consistently - although that was fixed with a £5 NIC.

Not this board, you must be thinking of the H61 version which was also good.

Don't think you have, it doesn't take a 2500 and it's not that old.

Have one in the gaming PC I'm typing from now. Excellant board for the money if you do not have a huge budget. Even offers a small bit of overclocking. As the OP said, pair it with the G3528 and you have a very decent mid level gaming rig.
